Throughout the semester, I’ve noticed a variety of bloggers on our AP Lit dashboard. As Ms. Trowbridge has pointed out, each person seems to have a unique theme encapsulating their overall persona. And since our semester is coming to an end, I think it’s only fitting that I commemorate some of these unique personalities.
The Self Help Guru
These bloggers offer insightful advice about living life to the fullest. Usually complete with an abundance of stock photos, these bloggers give us the latest tips on staying fit, being organized, and reaching the ultimate state of zen. They are the moms and life coaches of the AP lit bloggers, enlightening us all with helpful tips and tricks for self improvement. They usually include a plethora of personality quiz links as a footnote.
The Free Associator
This dude (and yes. Always a dude.) writes about anything ranging from his latest video game conquests to his existential crisis. He gives zero craps about how others perceive him— freely exposing whatever immediately comes to mind, and making sure to sprinkle in vast amounts of profanity while he’s at it. These blogs have high entertainment value and keep things real.
The Critic
This person is cultured, immersing themselves in all the latest books, movies, and TV shows. With careful analysis they will dissect the meaning behind the subtle shift in camera angle on 1:30:15, or roast the hell out of a subpar YA novel. They are the connoisseurs of the AP Lit bloggers, with high appreciation for art and acute intolerance for mediocrity.
The Foodie
These are our local taste testers who have taken the burden upon themselves to evaluate every culinary establishment in Naperthrill. With their help, we now know valuable information ranging from the best place for fried chicken to the advantages of drinking sparkling water.
The Intellectual
These bloggers routinely exceed the 1,000 word limit. Their interests usually revolve around their scholarly pursuits— from the most pressing current events to their passion for physics, biology, or art history. The content these writers blog about scream nerd as extensively share their woke thoughts. Why and how these people dedicate so much time to blogging is unknown– their obscene amounts of dedication really show.
The Procrastinator
An integral component of the AP Lit classroom, this blogger saves everything for the 11:59 deadline— or better yet for a month or two AFTER the deadline. You will typically find this blogger posting two or three blogs in succession, rapidly trying to make up for those missed assignments. In the end though, our procrastinator will pull through, scraping by on that 500 word minimum.
The Video Game Addict
This blogger spends all their waking hours playing video games. Their blogs consist solely of video game jargon as they nerd out over the best streaming sites and applaud themselves for reaching finally reaching level 56930202.

The Storyteller
This person shares moving stories about their life. Their narratives emanate vulnerability and introspection. These are surprising stories of resilience, growth, and optimism— reminding us all of the hidden strength and beauty within ourselves.
The Wannabe Buzzfeed Writer
This person has spent way too much time browsing Buzzfeed. Their blogs take the form of (insert number) types of (blank) and include an absurd amount of stock photos.

I hope you were able to relate to one of these types! Comment below which one you identified with or if I missed any.
On a more serious note, I really enjoyed reading everyone’s blogs semester. I’m going to miss reading them in the future.
I am simultaneously the intellectual (I see the art history reference!) with 1000+ words yet also the procrastinator? I have consistently turned in 3-week late blogs since blog #3–yikes. Love your work! You were not afraid to expose people!
lmao the last one 😮
