Top 10 Christmas Costumes for Dogs

After countless hours of searching many stores, including Amazon, Target, Walmart, various pet stores, e.t.c, I have compiled a list of the top ten Christmas doggy costumes. All dog owners know how cute it is to dress up our dogs, so it’s imperative we dress them up with the best outfits.

The Christmas outfits have been graded by the following: Color scheme and concept/design. These criteria make up the best of the best doggy outfits. This is not ranking, but rather a list of the top ten doggy outfits.

Enjoy!

Christmas Doggy Outfits

1. Pet Dog Cat Santa Hat Costume

Color Scheme: A nice simple color scheme really makes the simple nature of the costume look clean. You still have the Christmas vibe from the Santa colors, and your dog will be styling as well.

Concept: Very simple, but a classic. The Santa hat is a nice simple costume that shows the holiday cheer. The scarf further adds to the simple look for a complete set.

Overall: 100/100 cute doggies

2. FRISCO Textured Knit Dog & Cat Hoodie

Color Scheme: A nice red and white for a simple look. The simple color scheme does not distract away from the cute doggie, but amplifies the doggies cuteness. The simple coloring also does not take away from the cool texture of the hoodie.

Concept: The hoodie looks very clean as the doggie looks very comfortable and amazing. The pattern on the hoodie also adds this flare, which separates it from the other simple hoodies.

Overall: 50/50 cute doggies and +100 cool doggos

3. Holiday Plaid Flannel

Color Scheme: The black and white coloring goes well with every type of dog. Though it would look better with some fur colors than others, it still will look good. The black and white moves away from the traditional Christmas colors to give it that edgy look.

Concept: The plaid design looks very stylish and can be used for other occasions (than Christmas time). This outfit is also a part of a family set, so you can also dress up the same.

Overall: 300/300 cool doggies with 50 bonus cute doggies

4. Burgandy Fair Isle Dog Sweater

Color Scheme: The ugly sweater has a nice array of Christmas colors, and the black and gray adds an extra layer of detail which adds to the aesthetic. The color scheme would like nice on any color fur and bring out the holiday vibes.

Concept: Who doesn’t love a good holiday ugly sweater? The sweater has a really nice design which looks cool. The complex design reminds me of snowflakes while the simple bands depict the layers of snow.

Overall: 500/500 cute doggies

5. Idepet Santa Dog Costume

Color Scheme: The Santa costume got all the classic Santa colors and a little bit more with the gold belt buckle. It keeps the costume simple while still making it look complete. The gold really gives the costume more flavor which makes it better than the rest.

Concept: The Santa costume is a very common concept, but it’s a good one. When you think of Christmas, you probably think of Santa. This costume is the best way to get into the holiday cheer.

Overall: 200/200 cute small dogs

6. Christmas Dog Bandana Hat Bow Tie Set

Color Scheme: Very basic color scheme, but will go well with any color of fur or dog.

Concept: A very basic concept, as it isn’t a full-fledged costume. The plaid makes the costume look great and the tie is just adorable. The bell also makes the costume look complete, as it makes the costume more than just a bandana.

Overall: 1000/1000 cute doggies

7. Santa Clause Costume Riding on Dog Pet

Color Scheme: The color scheme is way too basic. It has Christmas colors, but it feels like there could be more. However, the red and white will look good on any dog.

Concept: This is the best concept for a costume I have ever seen. Santa riding in the dog is so funny and cute at the same time. The design definitely makes up for the lack of color on the costume.

Overall: 1000/1000 super cool doggies

8. Vintage Ugly Christmas Sweater

Color Scheme: There is a nice array of colors, as it definitely gives off a Christmas look. The red at the top and the black at the bottom looks very clean, and the use of white and gray as secondary colors complements the red and black very well.

Concept: Ugly sweaters are one of the best ways to show the Christmas spirit. This one has a nice snowflake pattern at the top with a neat pattern at the bottom. The patterns go really well with the colors, which makes the sweater look great.

Overall: 500/500 cute doggies

9. Reindeer Dog Sherpa Vest Pet Costume

Color Scheme: Finally we are away from the common red, white, and back color scheme and bringing out different colors. We have a nice reindeer brown and a nice bright red nose. Though it doesn’t follow the Christmas color trend, it still reminds you of Christmas.

Concept: The costume looks very cute and any dog would look amazing in the costume. The plaid antlers are a very nice touch, as they add more to the simple fur vest.

Overall: 9999/9999 cute doggies

10. Pet Reindeer Coat Christmas Costume Dog

Color Scheme: A very simple red and white color combination. I like how the costume uses white as a secondary color instead of primary colors as it really highlights the red instead of taking away from it.

Concept: The reindeer look with the red and white looks very clean. The costume is more of a hoodie than a reindeer costume. This gives it a neat look with the buttons and the hoodie. The Santa on the back there is a really fun touch which adds a lot more detail to the costume.

Overall: 5000/5000 cute doggies

I hope you enjoyed the list and consider dressing up your god for the holidays (unless they don’t want to be dressed up of course). Thank you for reading.

  1. Hi Rohan,

Although I am a cat owner, I will agree that all of these costumes are super cute for doggies of all sizes. I personally loved #9, the reindeer dog sherpa vest, and #7, the Santa Clause costume the most out of the 10 you listed. I dream of the day my cat will let me put her in a costume, but alas, dogs are more lenient with looking themed up.
