I’ve recently come to enjoy fried chicken. Restaurants like Popeyes, Chick Fil-A, and Raising Canes have risen to the top of my restaurant list. But each restaurant is missing something. Canes has amazing sauce but their chicken is unflavorful, and Chick Fil-A has flavourful chicken but sub par sauces. If you could combine these two franchises you would create the best chicken restaurant ever.
I present Chicken Lit. This family owned restaurant has created the perfect formula for a chicken restaurant. I would recommend getting the combo when ordering. It is similar to Canes in how it comes with fries, Texas toast, and chicken stripes. There is also no coleslaw so that makes it better already. The fries are very generic and are nothing special, the toast is good and on par with that of Raising Canes, but the chicken, the real centerpiece of the meal, is fantastic. With a crispy fried shell and a warm juicy interior what is not to love about this chicken. The different seasonings blend together perfectly and create a dance of flavour in your mouth. And this is without their signature Yummy sauce. This sauce takes the experience to a whole new level. The sauce is warmed so that there isn’t a temperature difference when eating. This makes you enjoy the flavour even more. The sauce is sweet but not overpowering and blends with the chicken perfectly.
In conclusion, and I won’t draw this out, if you want to eat chicken, go to Chicken lit. It combines all the best assets of other chicken restaurants to create one of the best tasting foods you can have.
Quinn-
Words cannot describe how ecstatic I was to see another fellow Chicken Lit lover. I definitely love all the restaurants you mentioned in your post, but I would have to agree that there is just something missing from all of them. I was so excited to discover Chicken Lit when I had it for the first time with my brother, and that has been my go-to chicken place ever since. It is also in a pretty convenient location right on Ogden, whereas the nearest Chicken Fil-A or Canes is a few more miles out. I’m not sure if you’ve tried the lemon pepper dry rub on your chicken yet, but if you haven’t, you definitely should the next time you go there! It’s definitely the best feature of the restaurant for me.
Quinn,
Okay, I’ve had chicken from all the restaurants you mentioned except Chicken Lit. I know, I know, I’m lacking in the chicken department right now. Plus, you’re like the seven thousandth person to tell me to try Chicken Lit so I guess this blog is a sign. I’ll try it and let you know what I think. Also, one of my friends said that Cane’s chicken would be great with the Chick-Fil-A sauce and that Chick-Fil-A’s nuggets would be good with the Cane’s sauce and I can’t stop thinking about it…
Hello, Quinn! You present a lot of possibly unpopular opinions here and your conviction is strong and unbreakable. You could almost write a commercial for Chicken Lit, as your description of the chicken is so detailed, as if I can consume the chicken vicariously. Though I am a happy customer at Chick Fil-A and Canes, I will definitely give Chicken Lit a try.
