Welcome!

About me:

I am a lot of things. So many it is impossible to count. Here are three.

Athlete. Much of my life revolves around my sports. As a runner, I spend my days outside in the hot sun, the pouring rain, the cloudless night, and the breaking dawn. I enjoy running because its much more than just a simple after school activity. Like many others, being part of a team is what makes it so special. However, running is a unique sport in the sense that it brings all sorts of things together. I run as part of a team. At the end of the day, we all score together, and every runner runs under the banner of Naperville North. I run as a pack. When you run during practice, everyone finds the people closest to them and they run as a group. Its impossible to run as an entire team, but much less satisfying to run as an individual. My closest bonds on the team are between me and my running buddies. I run alone. When racing, as much as you want to pace yourself with others, to get your best performance, you must run alone. The only person who can do their best as an individual is you. And you are the only one that can push yourself to get better.

Friend. On the other hand, when the going gets tough, there are very few choices as valuable as finding a friend. Someone whose shoulder can be both an arm and a head rest. When I am not at school, I spend time with other people, Family friends I’ve known since childhood, Running friends who I can hang out with, and School friends who never seem to sleep at all. I love company and being able to have a wide variety of friends helps me feel comfortable in almost any situation. I always feel like there is someone, somewhere, that I can talk to and who will help me out when I need it.

Student. As much as I would like to ignore it, I am a student. Often times it seems this aspect of myself is overshadowed by other events going on in my life. In reality, being a student controls almost all of my day, from dictating my amount of free time, to finding out where and when I will end up at the end of the week. Being a student is one thing that everyone has too experience, but is only what you make it. <– A lesson which I seem to have not quite learned yet!
