my bucket list :)

November8

Hey ya’ll! Okay, so I’m back with another “top three” list. This one is going to consist of the top three things I want to do before I graduate. I want to try and do so many different things this year, but I’ve had to minimalize my list several times. Here are my top 3:

1.Harlem Globetrotters

Harlem Globetrotters coming to Hancock College in February | High School | syvnews.com

Okay, let’s get one thing straight. I cannot play basketball. I tried to play when I was younger and that didn’t work out so well. But, I’ve been watching the harlem globetrotters on TV since I was little, so I’ve always wanted to go see them in person. It’s kind of weird, I know, but I’d be so upset if I didn’t go see them in person at least once in my lifetime. Now if you don’t know who the globetrotters are, they’re a basketball team of course, but they don’t play according to rules. They use theatrics and comedy to play and it’s hilarious! I one-hundred percent recommend you to watch them on TV sometime. Right now, I’m gonna try and convince my parents to buy me tickets!

2. Disney Land

Disneyland - Wikipedia

Okay, I’ve been to Disney World before but I still haven’t been to Disney Land. In fact I’ve never been to California either, so this trip would kill two birds with one stone. While this excursion on my bucket list may seem a little childish, I really do think that if I’ve seen Disney World, I’ve got to see Disney Land as well. I think I’m most excited for the food though.  Now, convincing my parents of going do Disney Land might be a little rough, but I’m going to give it a shot. Of course, I could also tell them we could leave time to do some sight seeing around Anaheim which I think they would enjoy a lot more. As a side note: If you haven’t been to Disney World or Land, TRY TO GO TO BOTH!

3. Go on a Cruise!

Royal Caribbean May Need Volunteers for Trial Cruises - Cruise Industry News | Cruise News

I saved the most important for last. I’ve never been on a cruise. Can you believe that?? Now this one is especially important to me for a couple of reasons. For one, when my mom was pregnant with me, her and my dad decided to take advantage of the time they had without kids to travel. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m happy they did. They even vlogged their trips so my younger sister and I could watch their travels. But for real!? I was literally a fetus while my parents toured Aruba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Ireland. The decided to take a cruise to Jamaica and when I watched their vlog I was so jealous. I’m still mad they decided to travel the world without me being able to physically see what they were seeing, but I’ll feel better if I acutally get to go on a cruise some time this year or next.

I did say I’d only list my top 3, but I have one more that’s pretty important as well. I’ve never been to a concert. At this point, you all are probably thinking, “wow, this girl lives under a rock.” I know, I know. But there may be an opportunity for me to finally go to one. I was scrolling on instagram one day, and I found that there was an old school R&B concert happening next year on my birthday. Those who know me know how much I LOVE 80’s and 90’s R&B. So, I told my parents about it, totally forgot about it, and when it came up in my mind again to buy the tickets, it was sold out. So, I’ve signed up for the waitlist. We’ll see if that works. In the meantime, we’ll see if any other R&B artists go on tour so I can buy tickets. Wish me luck!

Hey Jordan! Oh my gosh my parents also took advantage of the time they had before kids to travel, and everytime they tell me about it, I get so jealous. They even lived in London in the months before I was born, but moved back just in time to have me born in Naperville (I still kinda wish I was born in London though). Also, I have been to Disney Land, and although I was really little, I still personally think that Disney World is better just because I think it is bigger and has more of a variety of theme parks. But I still recommend going because California is favorite state, so going there would make the trip worth it alone. For your cruise point, I have been on a cruise once, and I think it is really fun as long as you have a sibling or a friend you can spend time with. We went with a group of family friends, and sitting at the pool during the day and going to the shows at night was made so much more interesting by having a group of friends with me. I hope you get to accomplish the things on this list!

Hey Jordan, I love your list! Strangely I have actually been to a Harlem Globetrotters game with my family, but I have no idea how or why we even got tickets because we have never watched one of their games before. But I am very glad we did because it was super fun and hilarious. As for Disneyland, I am in the same boat as you, I have been to Disney World several times with my family but we have never gone to Disneyland yet and it’s definitely on my bucket list. I have heard so many of the differences between the two but I want to be able to judge for myself. As for your last item, I have been on a cruise but I was pretty young so I don’t remember everything. There are definitely some really good moments that stand out, like the 24/7 all you can eat soft serve ice cream! I think it’s so cool that your parents got to take advantage of that time and vlog it all but now I think they should be taking to the time before you go to college to do some more and with you this time! 😉
