One thought on “Privacy on the internet”
It’s crazy to think that everything we’ve done on the internet can be traced back to us, which makes a lot of sense when I thought about it. We put a lot of sensitive information that I don’t even think we realize out into the internet, which is why targeted advertising works as well as it does. I remember an ad campaign that a company put out a while ago on Facebook that gave people super target ads that just had very specific information that Facebook gave to them for target advertising, if I remember correctly they were along the lines of “you’re a mother with three kids who lives in Naperville, IL.” I think that really goes to show how even what we perceive as little bits of information can ultimately be assembled into an online folder of important information about us.
