Welcome to my blog!

Let me first introduce myself…

To start off, I’m currently completing my senior year at NNHS and can’t wait to graduate and explore new cities as I progress through life. With such a low sense of humor, I absolutely have no right having the most obnoxious laugh on the planet, yet here I am.  Additionally, I have an older sister whose childish personality I can’t get enough of.

A big part of my life in the past two years has been my Siberian Husky, Atlas. He’s picky, needy, and high maintenance but I love taking care of all his many different needs. Seeing him grow up into an adult dog from a small little puppy has shown me a lot about how I love and care for others; It has truly been an incredible and extremely rewarding experience that has toughened me as a person. I even take Atlas to sledding practices a few times a month to help him release his innate energy for pulling sleds.

At school, you can find me helping all the new DECA members at North adjust to competition, organizing volunteer opportunities for National Honor Society, designing posters for Business Professionals of America, and performing skits in Future Problem Solvers. Outside of school, I run my own sticker company on Etsy called PlancakesStickerCo so if you have any sticker needs, let me know! I’m an avid graphic designer and use my abilities to help promote all of the clubs I’m in and the Illinois DECA association as well as an ILDECA state officer. However, I have been recently wasting materials designing custom Hydro Flask stickers instead.

Pop culture fascinates me and I love keeping up with obscure Twitter/Instagram trends and memes while also watching an occasional episode of The Wendy Williams Show to learn all about celebrity gossip. Keeping with such entertainment allows me to excite the current life I live, leading me to also envelop myself in TV every night. I watch all sorts of different shows ranging from trashy teen TV such as Teen Wolf to political dramas such as Scandal. A classic favorite of mine has always been, of course, Grey’s Anatomy.

Something key to me is how truly much I value my creativity and individuality. I often forget to think before I speak and take pride in occasionally being the loudest and most opinionated person in the room. Being able to comfortably speak my mind has always been an important value of mine and wherever I end up, I want to ensure I can still easily do so. This passion for creating is what fuels me to learn random Kyle Hanagami choreographies at 1 am as well.

As a child, I frequently took my mom’s lipstick and drew aquatic scenes all over our bright, white walls and was yelled at after. Art has so many interesting intersections in the real world and studying the field for so many years has encouraged me to incorporate it somehow into my career. That interest in art since childhood has continued to drive me to design and create in my teenage years as well which is why I experiment with so many different artistic mediums.

This fall, I’ll be attending The University of Pennsylvania to get WAY more involved in business and related fields to ultimately learn how to create the next viral advertising campaign. But in the meantime, I plan on barely passing second-semester senior year and having the most adventurous summer I can.

On my blog, you may be exposed to my unpopular opinions, complaints, food-related opinions, and overall perspectives on life. Stay tuned to continue hearing all about my overreactions and dramatic take on everything going on in my life.
