My name is Veronica. I have a brother named Jackson and he is a freshman. I live with my mom and my parents are divorced. My dad is remarried and I have 3 step-siblings. I have 3 dogs and I love them. I can’t watch any dog movies even if they are happy because I will cry no matter what. If a dog comes up to someone and sits by them when they are sad I will cry. I hate cats, they are judgmental and mean. I ride horses and have been doing that for 12 years. I have a horse names Bishop and I have had him for almost 2 years, but I will no longer have him soon because I need a horse that can do more. I work at a place called Gold Fish Swim School. It is very fun and you teach little kids how to swim. It’s super easy and if you need a job we are hiring.

My mom is my best friend. She has been with me through everything. Ever since my dad cheated on my mom, Jackson, my mom and I have been very close. I believe we are the best weirdest family, but we love it. We always know how to entertain ourselves and make each other laugh. As much as I am excited about college, I am sad to leave them.

Many people have asked me out of all sports why be an equestrian? And yes it is a sport and of your thinking it’s not I would like to see you try and not get injured. I love it because the idea of communicating with an animal that doesn’t speak English is so intriguing to me. Especially with an animal that is 2,000 pounds and could literally kill you any second they want to. My teammate has a mind of its own that could stop participating any time it wants and could severely injure me. My favorite thing about horses is that no matter how badly you screw up, they will always love you. You make such a perfect connection with them that their unconditional love and that bond is unbreakable. I’m trusting an animal that could kill me to take care of me and that animal is trusting me so they don’t get hurt while competing or practicing their discipline.

My top 3 schools are the University of Kentucky, Indiana University, and the University of Iowa. I want to major in marketing and IU is the most perfect school for me. It has a great business program, 3 ish hours from home, a fabulous riding team, and the campus is gorgeous. I love Kentucky but it is a little far. And Iowa doesn’t have a riding team but sounds perfect for me. It freaks me out because I don’t want to pick between riding and my education. Every time I have had to choose between riding and my education is has been riding.

The future freaks me out and I’m scared to leave my family. I still feel like a baby and like I’m too young to go to college. If there is one ting I know it is how much can change in a day and completely change your life. So im sure a lot will change in this upcoming year. Including the lack of tattoos, I have right now.
