Now I know some of you guys are probably looking at the title and going, “Yah so cool math games is dumb who would ever go on that site meant for kids :(“. Meanwhile, the other half of you are the true fans, and people who know the absolute hype that was always meant for cool math games.
I can’t help but sit in my math class, and wonder why there’s a site that has anything to do with BC Calculus (Spoilers it has honestly nothing to do with any sort of calculus for that matter, maybe some middle school maths but other than that I would see nothing to do with math on that site).
Now as I mentioned, some of you may have no idea why this is such a big deal to people, but cool math games has a special place in the hearts of many at this school. As one of the only game sites that remains unblocked at our school, students day in and day out continue to pull out this tab when free to try and find some sort of entertainment.
I personally have never gone a day without clicking on the site, and scrolling through the endless games that I could play. I can just remember the times in AP computer science where my friends and I would try and beat the games as fast as we could and competing against each other, the memories and good times we made throughout the period.
Cool math games provides a platform for multiple unblocked games (by the regime of the IT department of D203), where we can find games to just humor ourselves with and have fun with. I can count off 20 games off the top of my head that have made an impact through my life, whether it be Duck Life in 6th grade computer club as I sat next to THE DAVID KRAWCZYK and kept trying to beat him in the game. The Learn to Fly series that everyone tried to speed through and get their penguin to soar to new records.
Cool math games holds a special place, as most of us had nothing to do, whether it be in lunch or during class (Don’t worry Mrs. Trowbridge never in your class), but it was just something to do and to challenge yourself. The people who have never gotten onto the site just don’t understand why something that is so impractical would be so fun, but it’s pushing yourself and challenging how to think about a game and entertain yourself that gets us all to spend time with the game everyday.
When all our other game sites were blocked, when our emulators were blocked for playing classic gameboy games, when tetris was causing unnecessary pop ups, we had one site to rely on. One site that let us have something to do when of course we had our homework done (if there’s any one line you should look at Mrs. Trowbridge it’s this one), to let us play classic games from our childhood that let us have our nostalgia back it was Cool Math Games.
I can never send enough praise to Cool Math Games for the wonderful times it’s given me and my fellow peers. So I’ll leave you with the best way to describe in its whole from Cool Math itself, “Our first site! Coolmath.com offers ‘math for ages 13-100’ – explanations that are easy to grasp on topics like algebra, pre calculus and more.”, and while it may not be too much math anymore, I will always urge you to give this site a chance whenever you are too bored to do anything else and don’t have any means to satisfy yourself. Go on and give it a try, and you’ll start to understand why there is nothing cooler than cool math games itself.
