The last great reality TV Show. Survivor.

Survivor is a reality tv show about a cast of strangers that compete in challenges to progress further and become the lone survivor and win a million dollars. And I love it. I’m usually not a fan of reality tv shows like The Bachelor or The Amazing Race, but Survivor is very different. The cast of characters on Survivor are actually genuine in their actions, unlike other shows. If a character wants to betray their alliance, it is their genuine plan and idea. The beauty of this is that it exposes the true nature of the character. Some characters are genuinely good people, but some are just downright awful human beings. This makes for great interactions between characters that brings the show to a new level. But is not just the characters that make Survivor such a great show. The immunity and reward challenges the cast competes in push them to their physical and mental limits. The challenges are designed to work both body and mind by having the contestants run, climb, swim, dig, and solve puzzles. This would be hard by itself, but the players have also been sleeping outdoors and have only eaten what little food they get. The grit and perseverance of the characters make the challenges interesting. Some challenges are for the reward of immunity and some for rewards like food, flint, or camp supplies. Each character will push themselves differently in each challenge based on the reward. This exposes the true motivation behind each individual. If they fight harder for immunity than extra food then we can assume that the million-dollar prize is at the forefront of their mind. The reason this show is one of my favorites of all time is that it exposes true human nature, something we don’t see often. When people are out in front of cameras they change how they act. In Survivor, the characters forget about the cameras because they need to focus on finding food or fixing their shelter. They also get comfortable with the cameras around because they are there for thirty days. This show brings a new perspective every season and is always worth watching. And if you end up enjoying the show and continue watching, maybe you’ll see me on it in a few years.

Unfortunately, I must disagree! Survivor is in fact a great reality TV show, however, just like all other reality TV shows, Survivor has some scenes that are scripted in order to create drama and intrigue viewers. The Producer of Survivor has even admitted to faking some scenes. Nevertheless Survivor is a very interesting show and is truly enjoyable to watch.
