Why quarantine is a good thing for The Bachelor:

Am I going to use my love for The Bachelor to write another blog? You bet. There’s really not much else due to quarantine. Even though I’m missing having new episodes to watch while I’m bored out of my mind, I really believe that it is a good thing that The Bachelor isn’t airing right now. In fact, the new season of  The Bachelorette delayed filming, and I think that’s a good thing too. Here’s five reasons why:

  1. We would have to watch an entire season of Bachelor in Paradise soon. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great concept. I love the idea, and in the past, some seasons have been entertaining. However, when I look over Peter’s recent cast, I realize that I never want to see any of them on my TV screen ever again. They’re boring, annoying, and honestly I don’t want a reminder of his awful season.
  2. Clare’s season is forced to recast. I voiced my support of Clare as the new Bachelorette in one of my previous blogs as the oldest Bachelorette yet, but when her cast was released, I was shocked to see a bunch of guys way too young for her. I’m talking 10 or more years younger- not good. Now, since her season is being pushed back, the show needs a new cast of guys. Not only will the show have an opportunity to cast older men, but these men will apply with knowledge that the Bachelorette is Clare. She will have a cast of guys her own age that are there to pursue her, instead of a younger group that applied because they wanted to be part of Madison or Hannah Ann’s cast.Hannah B. & Tyler C.'s Quarantine TikTok Is The Opposite Of Social ...
  3. Quarantine Tik Tok. Yes, I love Tik Tok more than I should. Yes, I love The Bachelor more than I should. But I never thought that the two would mix. Little did I know that Hannah Brown, the last Bachelorette, would join her runner-up Tyler Cameron and his friends in his hometown of Jupiter, Florida, for part of quarantine. The Tik Tok’s the two made together were incredibly enjoyable, and provided content to support the idea of if not a romance between the two, at least a friendship. As somebody who really loved Tyler and Hannah together (pictured left), this was a source of solid entertainment for me.
  4. Not having new episodes means that this is a time for review. Especially because Clare is from an older season that most of the younger generation probably hasn’t watched, it’s a good chance to go back and rewatch. Although Juan Pablo (pictured with Clare on the right), the Bachelor in that season, is by all accounts rude and hard to watch, it’s important to have background info on Clare. Watching this as well as her stunts on other Bachelor spinoffs helps set the stage for her season. Why 'Bachelorette' Clare Crawley kept her Juan Pablo Galavis ...
  5. The last reason isn’t as great for us viewers as it is for the producers. During this time, the new Bachelor spinoff Listen to Your Heart is airing. The entire idea of the show is that it is a place for musicians to find love. If Jed (see Hannah Brown’s season) wasn’t enough for you, this show takes it to a new level. Needless to say, I won’t be watching. However, since so many people are bored beyond all reason, a lot more than expected are. LTYH may have unprecedented success due to quarantine.

All things considered, it’s probably a good thing that all filming for The Bachelor franchise has been delayed. It’s definitely a plus the way I see it, and since it’s tough to look on the positive side right now, I’m going to try to stick with that.
