Hey welcome back to the blog, today I’m talking about the sport I play and love. This would be lacrosse, I have been playing this sport for 10 years. I have played in many different states all in the United States. I am currently a Junior at Naperville North High-school. My past years of lacrosse have been great because of the whole highschool rave. This year is the most important, because I can start to get recruited by colleges. I’m actually very nervous for this year because of all the big things that take place, like SAT & ACT, along with getting your GPA up to where it needs to be. The nerve-racking thing is that how long the SAT & ACT are and the amount of time you have to make simple mistakes. Overall the main reason why I’m nervous is because of recruiting.
The first semester of school is so boring because I don’t play any sports, I used to play lacrosse my whole life up until freshman year. The main reason was because of the school I used to go to but that’s a whole another story. As the Football season is going on I can watch my friends play in the Friday night lights. Although they do lose 90% of the time it still cool to see them play.
The next thing I have coming up for lacrosse will be during the fall. Where I can have fall ball and a bunch of showcases. Showcases are very interesting to go to, because you have 200 kids all competing and playing as hard as we could just to make our mark. Some would be fortunate to do so others will have left with the smile knowing they tried. The other thing that is coming soon is fall ball which is practicing and some games here and there it’s overall a pretty fun time.
Well to continue off of lacrosse, Last year second semester was my first time at Naperville North. It was pretty good, except I was happier about lacrosse because I found out I would be eligible to play that season. I did pretty well I would like to think I started on varsity and made some pretty big contributions from goals to assists, even with riding (Which is when the offense looses the ball, the offense play defense to try and get the ball back before the other team crosses the Mid-line). I lead the team in total points which is pretty cool. I’m excited to see what this year brings me as of lacrosse performance.
Last year our team was pretty good. We did lose in the playoffs but we had a great run and really came together as a team. From our first game to our last I had never had so much fun playing with a group of guys who helped each other grow and get better. I was sad to see our seniors go but its just how things go. I hope our team this year can live up to last years team, maybe even better we just have to buildup not break down.
