Still Don’t Give A Fuck
Still Don’t Give A Fuck by Eminem released in 2017 glorifies death, the devil, guns, bombs, and drugs. The rapper is mentioning topics that are important throughout the song. A lyric directly from the song: “I walked into a gunfight with a knife to kill you, And cut you so fast, when your blood spilled, it was still blue “. He is trying to express the fact that even though he walked into a gunfight with a knife and not a gun he still came out on top. Many think that a gun is an ultimate killing device but he states that any tool used in the wrong manner could kill someone.
Opening the song, right off the bat he mentions the devil and worshipping the devil but he does not say he worships the devil. He is trying to inform people of all the wrong assumptions about him. By doing this at the end of the first verse he says “But if I offended you, good ‘Cause I still don’t give a fuck”. In my opinion, he is stressing on the fact that he does not care about what p[people say about him, he does not care whether someone is offended by his words or behavior because it’s his life and he has every right to do whatever he wants with it. He is basically trying to tell people that he used to care about what they thought about him and then he came to a realization that it does not matter what they think about him as a person just whether they enjoy his music.

Some background about him. Eminem is an American rapper, producer, songwriter, and actor that rose to fame through his stage name or alter ego Slim Shady. He is often nicknamed the King of Hip Hop for his sometimes controversial but also influential lyrics. He grew up as Marshall Bruce Mathers III with a single mom and no siblings. He has paved a path for younger rappers of different races since hip hop/ rap was predominantly African American, him being one of the first white rappers on the scene.
Still, Don’t Give A Fuck, also garnered a lot of attention for its degrading view on women referring to them as bitches, sluts, and says that he would be okay with a “fat slut that cooks and does dishes”. Implying that women are meant to be in the kitchen and not working. This really surprised me because he is known for being a really good father to his daughters. He even wrote the song “Mockingbird” for them.
Personally, I enjoy his music and I do not think it has a negative impact on the youth and I think he is a great rapper that deserves the title – King Of Hip Hop. Even though I may like his music I do not agree with his views on women, drugs, alcohol, guns, and much more. I enjoy listening to this song but I do not like the meaning but I do respect his bravery for releasing a song as controversial as this one.
I agree with you. With the line where he says “But if I offended you, good ‘Cause I still don’t give a f**k”. I think this is also showing how he wants to get the issue out there and is not going to care about the criticism for singing it because it’s an important issue and people need to hear it.
