Because, bc, be cuz, bcuhz! All these ways to say because or spell it (in slang texting). We’ve all used “Because” some type of way in our lives, either towards explaining something or just that you got caught up in a lie. The definition of because in the dictionary is, “for the reason that; due to the fact that”.
When I was in 1st grade, I was really good at spelling words and mesmerizing them. Except for times where I had to take a quiz or test. Tests and quizzes didn’t always go my way. They made me nervous and scared me a little bit causing me to forget the answers. Making mistakes on the questions that I knew really frustrated me and convinced myself that I couldn’t spell or memorize words, and soon as I put myself down, my confidence fell with it.
One day on a Thursday afternoon I had a spelling quiz, which I studied and prepared for, but when it came to the quiz everything in my head went blank when it came to the word “because”, I felt like I was floating in space full of heavy nothingness. By the time I snapped out of it, time was up and had to turn in my paper. The emotion that I was feeling was poor, and had a dull impact of my day going forth.
Later that day my mom got a call from my teacher saying that I was struggling with spelling one word “because”. My mom asked me why and I didn’t know. My mom sat there like a statue and looked me up and down, soonly to taking out my spelling book. I was not sure of what was going on at the moment, reading through my spelling book my mom looked at me crazy, my mom had a goofy confused look. “Trez whats wrong? In this book, you’re doing good in spelling… except for the word because”. And hearing that made me upset. Breaking the silence, “ Spell it” my mom said, and I tried and tried. My mom suggested me to try to spell it slow step by step and making flashcards. After 30 minutes I remembered by spelling it slowly, “B,E,C,A,U,S,E” super proud moment for my mom and I which boosted my confidence and made me think that I can do and accomplish anything which caused me to be the person I am today.
