I listen to a lot of music. In the car, sometimes in my room, in the hall between classes, and sometimes even in class. I really only listen to rap songs. The only time I don’t listen to rap is when I’m in the car with my mom or dad.
1st song: Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill
This first song is a classic pre-game song. It is a motivating/hype rap song. Before every game I have for hockey, this song is usually being played in my earbuds. Growing up in Philadelphia, this song was very popular considering that Meek Mill is from Philly.
2nd song: I Lived by OneRepublic
This second song was the song that was played at my 6th grade graduation. In Philadephia, my school’s elementary school went from K-6. I loved my school and my friends and I had moved after 6th grade and it was in all a very emotional day for me and one of the things I remember from that day is when I was walking up on the stage and they played a video of all of the memories, this song played. I don’t listen to this song on a regular, but it brings a lot of memories to me when it plays.
3rd song: Do What I Want by Lil Uzi
This 3rd song was the song that introduced me to rap and music in general. When this song dropped, in 2016, I didn’t listen to music and then my friend showed me this song and it completely changed my opinion on music. After I listened to this song, I started to listen to Lil Uzi more and became in love. Lil Uzi is and will always be my favorite artist, but withou
t this song, I don’t know if I would’ve ever become interested in music.
4th song: Championships by Meek Mill
My 4th song is Championships by Meek Mill, and I like this song for a few reasons. One of those reasons being that it is a good song because the message is that no matter where you start, you can always go up, and no matter how far you get pushed back, you can always go up. The overall tone of this song is positive and makes me think positive no matter how much I’m doubted.
5th song: 20 min by Lil Uzi
My 5th song, 20 min, by Lil Uzi is one of my favorite songs. When I put my playlist on shuffle, I end up skipping a lot of the songs because I’m never in the mood for that certain song. Whenever this song pops up and plays, I find myself always listening to it. This is also one of the first songs that I heard from Lil Uzi and I immediately fell in love.
