Have you ever wanted something so bad but seemed impossible to achieve? Wealth? Love? These things seem unrealistic as our constant negative thoughts feed us doubt and prevent us from attracting whatever we desire using the law of attraction. The law of attraction is a technique used to materialize our thoughts into reality. Essentially, we manifest all our needs and wants with the right mentality. So why do we repeatedly tear ourselves apart and bring our energy down? On any given day, I challenge anyone to catch every negative thought that crosses their mind and trust me, it’s way more than expected. Quite frankly, it’s sad how we fill our minds with thoughts that contain such negative energy when we could be embracing the day and carry a positive mentality. A majority of people don’t realize our thoughts hold the power to control your life, and your life will be a result of your thoughts. As we think negatively, we attract negative things. When we think positively, we attract positive things. It’s all a mind game and a skill that’s relatively hard to master. But how can one always stay positive? How can I find the good in EVERYTHING on a day to day basis?
I was 15 years old when I first had to use the law of attraction. I was given the keys to the car to drive to my friend’s house down the block to spend the night. I’m truly a good driver, so my mom and I weren’t too worried. My mom also had two broken wrists at the time, which explains why she put so much trust in me given she couldn’t take me anywhere or help me with most things. She trusted me with this responsibility because she knew I could handle it, and for the most part, I’m an independent, responsible kid. With no license in hand, I started the car and made it to my friend’s house safely. Best two minutes of my life. Knowing I could drive anywhere I wanted at the time was exhilarating, so we decided to go for a quick cruise at 2 a.m to one of God’s greatest creations: Taco Bell. We went through the drive-thru and I devoured a burrito and taco in the parking lot, luckily I got to at least eat my meal before the catastrophe.
After our late-night snack, I went towards the exit of the Taco Bell. It was hectic in the car with music blaring and side conversations. As I made the turn I, unfortunately, made a left on a one-way street, somehow not seeing the ONE WAY sign right in front of my eyes. There was no going back at this point and soon came the infamous red and blue lights. My heart sunk, I couldn’t cry, I wasn’t mad or in a panic, I was in shock. I went over the situation over and over in my head thinking If I had just turned right this could have been completely avoidable, but I also could’ve used good judgment and not have gone out driving in the first place. All in all, we were with the cops for a couple of hours, and I had to get a ride home from them with my friend, awaiting my doom as we got closer and closer to my house. I received three tickets that night and was to attend court on August 1st. After reviewing the tickets with my parents the following day, it seemed as if getting my license was at stake and I was devastated. I was convinced I wasn’t going to be able to drive until I was 18. I spent a couple of days dwelling on what I could’ve done better, thinking of that split-second decision that now is costing me so much more than anticipated.
Eventually, I learned to laugh at what had happened, even my parents did too. I saw the situation as a small inconvenience that I can overcome and took it way less seriously. Given my new mindset, I was more positive and hopeful leading up to my court date. All year I have been waiting for my birthday to receive my license, and I was not about to have that excitement be jeopardized by the law. I convinced myself I was going to get my license, erasing any doubts or negativity from my thoughts. Anytime I would feel doubtful I would catch myself and would immediately replace that negative thought with what I wanted to manifest. As August 1st came I was weirdly confident. For the past couple of weeks, I stayed positive, and doing so seemed to be extremely effective on the day of court. My parents and I ended up seeing a family friend attorney who we haven’t seen in years willing to help me out with no pay. With ease, he condensed all my charges to only 1: curfew violation. This meant I could get my license on my birthday, and on the 15th I went to the DMV. Surprisingly the process went smoothly, and I was able to get my license within the hour. I thanked the law of attraction for giving me faith and coming into my life at the perfect time. I was able to shape the world around me by just using the power of my thoughts. This may seem hard to believe, but it truly does work. Scientifically speaking, research found mirror neurons in the brain. These neurons mirror the behavior of someone who is being observed. According to award-winning author Srinivisan Pillay, when we observe someone doing something, the same pattern of brain activation that allows that person to do what they are doing (e.g. lifting up their right hand or smiling) is mirrored in the brain of the observer.” Essentially, our brain is activated when observing others do things and it feels as if we are actually doing these things and feeling the same emotions. This activation is seen in the promoter and parietal cortex of the brain. Your brain is setting up a simulation for you, therefore during the process of manifestation, your neurons are making you feel as if these things (your thoughts) are already occurring, gradually creating a simulation of what you want at that moment. While those who oppose the law of attraction believe privilege is necessary in order to manifest whatever you want and the law is simply not effective, it is in fact the key to happiness and can improve your life tremendously. Yet, reality does not manifest with ease. Manifestation takes a lot of mental strength and is extremely hard to stay consistent with.
Learning about the law of attraction was like discovering a whole new world for me. I dove deeper into spiritual practices, such as card readings and writing affirmations. It was basically a whole culture that I wish I had discovered sooner. I came across the idea of manifestation through YouTube, not really surprised I learned this practice through a social media platform. There were several different videos that I watched and I eventually composed a list of steps that would help guide me on this journey with the law of attraction. The biggest takeaway was that the key component to manifestation is remaining positive. This can be exceptionally challenging given negativity is the core of our thoughts. Although, it’s important to remember that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. Essentially, how we react to things isn’t the fault of those around you. Some ways to stay positive is meditation, journaling, and writing affirmations. Affirmations consist of written sentences regarding things you want to attract into your life, yet they are written in the present form. I have the love of my life. I got an A on my test. I typically try to write these at least 3 times a week. As mentioned previously, meditation gives the brain an opportunity to rest, and journaling helps release all emotions-stress, happiness, excitement. Journaling is extremely crucial, it’s like a therapist that always understands you. In order for us to thrive in manifestation, we need the brain to remain calm and practicing these things can really benefit you during this process. Once you begin to carry a positive mindset, every negative thought should be replaced with a positive one. I know going into a thinking loop is inevitable, all that matters is how quickly we are able to pull ourselves out by using gratitude. Alongside thoughts of gratitude, you need to envision your affirmation in your head after catching a negative thought, always keeping your eyes on the prize. Being 100% focused on your affirmation results in channeling the right kind of energy: positive.
Those who aren’t educated on the spiritual lifestyle/practices most likely think everything I just said was ridiculous, perhaps even foolish. It’s a topic that lies in the conspiracy type category, so it’s understandable how some may think very poorly of the law of attraction. I encourage my readers to try to apply the Law at least once in their life. Doing so will take patience, faith, and confidence. Once you continue to think positively about your affirmation, you will begin to feel a connection, as if it has truly happened already. Once that connection has been made, what you have yearned to have will finally come to you, either with or without time. As the saying goes “life is what you make of it”. The law of attraction can shape your life into what you’ve always dreamed of with a strong mindset and self-dependence. I aspire to use the law of attraction in all aspects of my life, and hope others can improve their life as well by simply thinking positively.

On the Chromebook a lot of stuff is blocked, so I suggest checking out “gemgoddess” on YouTube on a different device. She has a lot of videos about manifestation and even for specific things too.
