My name is Hailey. I am a 17 year old senior at Naperville North High School. I was born in Chicago and moved to the suburbs when I was two years old. In Naperville, I grew up living the american dream. Big house, white picket fence, and a family of three. As time went on, we moved, and then moved again. I spent a majority of my middle school era in the second house I moved into. During this time, I went to Washington Junior High and hated it. Lots of unnecessary drama that just created a toxic environment for me. Three years later I’m a freshman at north and met some really amazing people. I weaved out my solid group of friends around end of freshman year, yet mostly beginning of junior year. Throughout all of highschool, I’ve always been friends with lots of different groups. I believe that every group of people you encounter and love serves a different purpose in your life. I’ve always been social and willing to meet new people. I tend to be outgoing and I like to make other people laugh. I also tend to be a leader and this trait was acquired definitely through volleyball.

7th-11th grade I played volleyball in and outside of school. I loved the intensity and fast pace of the game.  I loved being on a team, traveling, and the feeling I got from playing. Freshman year I  Improved at a rapid pace and made the team. Although this may not seem like a big deal to others, there were 60 girls and only 20 made it. Being a freshman, that was really intimidating, and it felt like a big accomplishment for me. I played school volleyball freshman- junior year and club 8th-10th grade.

Moving forward, to expand more more on my friends, beginning of junior year I was introduced to a whole new group of people. We don’t really know how it happened, but gradually the group formed and we have stayed a solid group since. These are the people I picture most of my high school memories with. These people make me feel appreciated and make life 1,000 times more enjoyable. Having been surrounded by so many positive people in my high school career (for the most part), has helped me inherit several positive personality traits and even morals. I’m someone who is very loyal and considerate of others. I can empathize with people easily and give advice when necessary. I like to make everyone feel included and I try to make others be outgoing and feel comfortable talking to me. I would say I have fun friends who like to have a good time. I like people who will go to concerts with me, go on roller coasters, watch scary movies, and do anything out of our comfort zone. All in all, the people I surround myself with help me be myself. I don’t know what else to say.
