How to feel normal during Quarantine, well…semi-normal.

I know y’all are feeling it. I also know that every single blog is going to be about quarantine, which is okay. We’re all going through a LOT, and it’s important that we at least try to maintain a schedule. Yesterday, I did absolutely NOTHING. I felt awful and I couldn’t really sleep. Today, I did a lot of things that really helped me improve my mood and make me productive. I’m going to put these in order of how I like to do them.

Sleep

Now I know this one sounds stupid, but I’m serious. I know I’m hearing about all of your messed up sleep schedules, but it’s such a slippery slope. I love staying up late, so I’ve allowed myself some late-night phone time, but I set a limit for myself. I make sure it’s lights out, phone away, in bed by 11:15 every night. This also will allow you to wake up earlier and not feel like you wasted your day. Also, make sure to close any curtains or blinds you have. This will help you wake up to your own internal clock, rather than the bright sun in your eyes.

I’ve naturally woken up around 7:30-8:30 every day, which feels really nice because I have a lot of time to do stuff. Another temptation might be to sit in bed on my phone until 2, so to avoid this, MAKE YOUR BED!!!! When you wake up, stretch, take your time, and then get up and make your bed. It sets you up right for the day, as you need a change in scenery!

Clean your Room

Going off of my whole making your bed point, it’s also important to make sure your room is tidy, especially if you do your homework there. I always do homework at my desk to try and simulate school to the best of my abilities. With that, having a clean room always helps me focus. I get distracted very easily, so I know how any sort of mess can distract you.

Another random thing, but open your curtains! At night I use my light in my room, but otherwise, I stick to natural light, it helps the strain on your eyes. It also tends to open any room up, making you feel less cramped.

Shower

This sounds so easy, but sometimes in these quarantines, you just don’t have the motivation to shower. I decided that the way I keep on track with this is by doing it at the beginning of my day. That way, it doesn’t feel like my shower is interrupting my life, but rather waking me up for a new day.

Do Laundry

This one might not apply on certain days, but if you’re able to do a full load of laundry (or more), then do it! Not only will it declutter your room and mind, but it also gives you something to do. I know these days can be really boring, and folding laundry is a good way to mindlessly pass some time.

Do your schoolwork

This may be a no-brainer, but doing your schoolwork when it’s assigned will help you maintain a schedule. I know that personally, I like to make myself a little daily planner in my notebook as a to-do list. Also, now is a perfect time to get ahead on things! While you’re feeling motivated, go for it! Today has been especially purposeful for me, so I decided to actually get ahead on my work, which is always an option.

Go on a bike ride

Now, I’m not saying you HAVE to go on a bike ride, but go outside! Go on a walk! I biked like 6 miles and it was so nice to finally be outside. Near my house is this super long trail that follows the DuPage river, so I just biked along that for a long time.

Another reason to go outside and do stuff is ALONE TIME! I spent 30 minutes biking and it was so relaxing, just being with myself riding along. I went a little too hard in the 80 degree weather, so maybe do like 3 miles instead of 6. Even so, the ride included some much needed alone time, and I happened to bike past a few friends and give them a distant wave.

Do something you like

I’ve really gotten into painting recently, but this can really be anything. Take time that isn’t just looking at your phone to color, listen to some music, or try something new like calligraphy! It can really be anything, but I’d recommend at least 40 minutes of something that is not your phone or napping. Be productive! It takes up time and allows you to be with yourself for a bit.

Have family nights

My family spends every night watching 2-3 shows together, and eating family dinner. With my previous schedule, I never had the time to eat with my parents, as I was at show choir or theatre activities until 9:30 every night. As much as this quarantine sucks (and I’m sure sometimes your family are the people you want to see), take this time to enjoy their presence. Not to offend any parents, but I tend to not hang out with my parents in the afternoon. This allows me to actually enjoy our time in the evening without wanting to kill them from seeing them too much.

Eat Meals

This isn’t any specific “time of day” but it’s really important to try and eat at consistent points in the day. I eat breakfast every day to fuel myself, and usually a small lunch (I’m not doing a lot actively so usually I’m not super hungry). Then, I always eat a good dinner, because it’s a great way to spend time with family.

How can I get through this??????

This totally sucks. Nobody can deny that. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re overreacting. Everyone is missing out on things right now. That being said, remember that everyone is going through this together. When people get mad or sad, try to recognize how hard this is for them too. We can do this, I know it.

I Spend Too Much Time in the NPAC

We all know by now that I’m the biggest theatre nerd. I would estimate that I spend an average of 2 hours per day in the auditorium, my highest being around 12 hours (I know, it’s my entire life). I have realized that senior year has been an especially theatre heavy year for me. I want to reminisce right now, now that my final show is in full swing, on the shows I’ve done this year.

A Simpler Time

To start off my senior year, I knew that I wanted to do something big. I decided to direct the Freshman Sophomore show with Anna Snyder. We had big dreams, and nothing was going to stop us.

We started casting the show in May 2019 (end of our junior year), so we had a lot of eighth-graders auditioning for us. This meant we had to be welcoming and excited and very open-minded. One big takeaway I have from directing a show is that you shouldn’t look for perfection, you should be looking for potential. We made a lot of progress with our cast very quickly, as they were all super willing to work. Soon enough, our show was on stage and I sat there like a proud mother watching over them.

Directing a show taught me a lot about myself, but one thing it brought me was many new friendships. The bonds I created with the underclassmen I worked with were so refreshing going into a new year. I also found a lifetime friend in my co-director Anna, who has been by my side since. Directing a full-length play with incoming high schoolers can be daunting, but it taught me to be resilient, joyful, and to live in the moment.

Romeo & Juliet

This was my favorite show all four years of high school. The cast was pretty small, which caused a lot of strong bonds to form quickly. The show started out with about two weeks of nothingness. We learned about First Folio and what it is and how to read it. We sat while Mr. Simon droned on for two hours and we fooled around.

The inside jokes in this specific show were probably the weirdest I’ve ever seen. In the boy’s dressing room, we hid a scooter in the ceiling, along with a truckload of fruit snacks. We also put a puppet into the broken air vent. On top of all of this, we praised Epson projectors. I don’t know when it started, but it still is ongoing. Anytime we see Epson projectors, we all scream and chant “Epson!” One time, we had a weirdly long Friday rehearsal, and we were SO hungry. Josh Diaz, Diana Soukup, and I decided to individually each order $20 worth of Five Guys. Thus, “Five Guys Fridays” began.

This show was filled with hilarious memories, and I honestly want to write an entire blog about it, but I won’t bore you with inside jokes that make ZERO sense for 1,000 words. Also, this show was probably my favorite hair I ever got to do for a play (thanks for doing it for me Greta), but that’s not the point.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

I promised myself I would NOT audition for this show. Romeo & Juliet was so time-consuming and difficult that I did not want to worry about anything else, especially so close to the end of first semester. Suddenly, I was being forced to audition by all my friends. I was left with the leading role of OOMPA LOOMPA!! I was thrilled and ready to take on this difficult role.

The show for me consisted of random dances and running around on stage throughout. At one point, me, Jerecho Agudelo, and Lindsey Jennings all ran on stage and whipped as the tourists passed by the “whipping” room.

That cast specifically was probably one of the best of my four years. We all were silly 24/7, and we loved to just hang out and vibe. The cast party was AMAZING and full of surprises, including the weirdest game of “Never Have I Ever” that I’ve ever played.

One Acts

I think that One Acts were probably the weirdest thing I’ve done this year. On the day of auditions, I get a text from Mr. Simon saying “Hey! Just so you know, you’re producing One Acts this year.” I was shocked. I wanted nothing to do with these shows considering I wrote and directed one junior year. I was TIRED of the morning rehearsals and lack of time to memorize. So then I got there and auditioned because I’m me and that’s what I do.

I got cast in a cute little show called “Better Left Unanswered.” I’m not gonna lie to you, I read the script and immediately wanted to yell at the director. It was genuinely THE EXACT SAME as my show from last year…but whatever.

I hated rehearsals and also procrastinated memorizing until the day before. Nonetheless, it was legit so much fun to sit on stage with my friends drinking Root Beer and acting like we were being haunted. It was so random but so cute and fun. Despite that, I would never do One Acts again. ‘Nuff said.

PICTURED: my character’s only emotions in the whole show – annoyed and confused.

Beauty & the Beast

I really don’t have a lot yet to base this portion of the blog on. We just started rehearsing for Beauty & the Beast. Currently, my only role is the “Aristocratic Lady” who sings a little bit in the beginning. My character’s description can only be described as an a**hole, which is gonna be fun to act out on stage. I basically walk around and talk crap about the villagers in the town.

I’m a little nervous for this show, as it is my final performance at North. Also, the musical isn’t 100% related to the rest of theatre, as it’s run by someone different. Even so, I can’t wait to make the most of each of our 6 performances. (Make sure you stop by April 22nd-26th). Maybe you’ll see me in my hoop skirt singing about bacon – one of my very few lines.

Currently, I have no photos of Beauty & The Beast, so I included the only photo I’ve taken at a rehearsal of me eating chips. I also wanted to add a cute little picture of some random kid who played the Aristocratic Lady, just to give you a little hint of what you’re about to see if you come to the show.

UPDATE: I wrote this blog two weeks ago. I am absolutely shocked that my final opportunity to perform on stage with the people I love is now gone. I want to say that this blog has NOT aged well, and I haven’t even posted it. I’m sorry to the people who had so many things to look forward to. I know my airband is devastated, and I think everyone is feeling it right now. I’m so sorry. I included a picture of what seems to be an 8-year-old playing the part that I would’ve played. Enjoy.

The End of an Era

It’s been a crazy four years. From my first show “Breaking News” (legit the worst show ever) to now, I feel a little nostalgic. My life is forever engraved into theatre at North. It shaped me to be who I am today, the obnoxiously loud and confident girl you hate in AP Lit. All I can say is, if you want to try something new, try acting! It’s so fun and silly. The memories you make and confidence you build is next to none, so why not?

Picky Eaters Beware…

I know you may be wondering why I’m titling this about picky eaters. Well I am one! I do not like most foods, but one thing I like that many stay away from is sour candy. It’s AMAZING! I decided, in good ol’ Erin fashion, I am going to rate sour candy.

Airhead ExtremesImage result for airhead extremes

These are by far my favorites. My inspiration for this came because I just bought these last week. Unlike other sour candies, they have a taste besides the sour. They are actually really sweet without the sour sugar on it, but when they add that it’s an explosion of different tastes in your mouth. I especially love these at show choir competitions, because they encompass all cravings one could have. Right after a performance? A quite DELECTABLE snack.

One negative about this candy is it’s availability. You never see these in stores, and they should be! I will say, they have added a new Airhead Extreme “bites,” but those just don’t hit the same. They are way harder, unlike the soft, bendable, regular ones. Nevertheless, they do make a decent substitute when in a dire situation.

Sour Skittles

The words “Sour Skittles” genuinely makes my mouth water and my jaw hurt. They are so strong (I know I’m super white don’t judge my sensitive taste buds). These are the epitome of sour candy. I’m a big fan of the green ones, it makes the green apple taste even better than it was originally. What I will say is that I am producing a lot of saliva right now thinking about those green sour skittles…TMI?

Sour Skittles are far superior to their counterpart: original Skittles. Despite this, I can’t get behind them 100%. You have to be in such a specific mood for these, which I almost never am, and they also make your tongue hurt for a week after you eat them. It’s like they grind down the outer layer of your tongue and leave it throbbing in pain.

Rating: 5/10

Sour Patch Kids

Sour Patch Kids lowkey taste weird. There, I said it. `They are too gummy and icky. Despite that, they get stale so fast. Then they’re like rocks…impossible to eat. I do not like sour patch kids is what I’m trying to say. Specifically, I hate the orange and yellow ones. It’s like eating raw lemon…and I just don’t like oranges. Honestly? I don’t want to give Sour Patch Kids the time of day, I’m done with this review.

Rating: 2/10

Sour Punch StrawsImage result for sour punch straws

These are not as popular, but they do sell them at Naper Nuts & Sweets. I’ve had them a few times, and they are sour as all hell! They do have great flavor though, although a little washed out by the sour sugar. If you are looking for a sour snack that’ll take a good while to eat, it’s these. They’re like those red vines, but covered in sour sugar, so they fill you up pretty quick.

I have to say, similar to Airhead Extremes, it’s rare to ever find these, so you never crave them. Honestly, I don’t know how they are still being sold when I feel like NOBODY buys them. I don’t think they deserve a lower rating for this, but it’s just a note for their marketing team.

Rating: 7/10

Gummy Worms (the sour ones…duh)

Not gonna lie, I never eat these. Whenever I see them in vending machines, I steer away from them. I think it’s because I don’t really like them, but I’m not sure. They have different color combinations, and the only one you’ll catch me eating are the red and blue ones, nothing else. They are also kind of generic…unoriginal. There are so many brands of sour gummy worms, and I feel like they aren’t recognizable enough.

I have a lot of respect for sour gummy worms, they are a classic that have withstood time. For that, they deserve some recognition.

Rating: 4/10

Sweet Tarts

Sweet Tarts aren’t super sour, but they use the same sour sugar that these other candies do. They are so good, but so hard to eat a lot of. They are legitimately so strong and I can’t handle more than three of them.

Although this may be controversial, I love the chalky texture of Sweet Tarts, just like the fun dip stick…so good. I think that it’s very unusual for candies to be like that, but not crumble in your mouth. Things like Smarties always disintegrate in your mouth, but Sweet Tarts hold out STRONG for you to get that good crunch.

Ending Thoughts

We all have our opinions, on the silliest of things. I know that I personally make a lot of blogs about rating things, but I want you all to know that your opinions are important as well, so leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Seniors…We’re Finally Here.

I know what you’re all thinking. Don’t start with this sappy BS. But I can’t help it!! As I’m sitting with all my best friends on the bus for my last overnight competition in show choir, I’m feeling a little nostalgic.

As “Gone, Gone, Gone” by Phillip Phillips plays on the speakers (give it a listen while you read this, it’ll set the mood), I can’t believe this year is coming to an end.

I want to use this blog to just ponder on all things that have happened, and are happening in high school. So many things are going on, and my outlook on this year has changed so much. I started out with a mindset of “this is stupid, senior year is overrated.” Now, here I am, in airband, the senior variety show, assassins, and senior board. I’m your run-of-the-mill NNHS husky senior!

Airband

Trying out for airband was – simply put – terrifying. We had barely prepared and had nothing going for us…except for our friendship. Finishing the audition, the judges told us how connected we were, and we were so hyped.

We all met up afterwards and waited for the results, and when I tell you that everyone cried, I mean EVERYONE. As we group-hugged and took silly timer-selfies, I realized that my high school dream came true. I was going to perform onstage with 2,000 people watching.

Assassins

First off, Meg Sparacino, if you’re reading this – I know you’re coming after me for assassins, and I refuse to let it happen.

Assassins is strange. It’s honestly way too stressful for me and I feel very paranoid 24/7. Although it has brought me a lot of laughs. My friend Mikayla pretended to have me for assassins to prank me. She legit parked outside of my house for nearly an HOUR after my rehearsal. She blocked my driveway and I had to chase her away…so committed to the prank!

Overall, assassins is absolutely terrifying. Lauren Sun, I hope you see this and know how stressed I was seeing you every day in class knowing you had me for assassins. Now I can’t focus EVER because I barely know who has me!

(If anyone has info on my assassin please lmk)

Senior Variety Show

For some odd reason, I feel that only the most “senior” of seniors emcee some sort of event. You always see those popular kids up onstage cracking funny jokes. I am not one of those people. Despite that, me and three other of my dweeby friends auditioned to emcee the senior variety show (surprise, surprise…we were the only ones to audition). As I’m currently writing my script for it, I realized how unfunny I am, but that’s for another day.

Theatre

NNHS Theatre has been a large part of my life for the past four years. My first show was this awful production called “Breaking News.” By no means was it bad because of the school or directing or anything like that. It was genuinely just not a good script. Little old Erin was so thrilled to have just 14 lines on that stage (yes I do remember how many lines I had).

When I think about my growth throughout my time in theatre, it feels almost surreal. Freshman year I barely auditioned, while sophomore I got cut from a show, which came as a shock when it occurred. After being at callbacks for 6 hours for the freshman-sophomore show, I received a cast list without my name on it.

Fast forward to Senior year. I directed the same show I got cut from (the Freshman-Sophomore play) and I got a pretty large role in Romeo & Juliet — Lady Capulet represent!! I also attended my first Theatrefest, which was an experience and a half that I might get to in another blog. 😉

The growth I see from freshman to senior year is not one of acting skills. I had the same skills I had freshman year (I never really took acting classes or anything). My growth came directly from my confidence. I auditioned for each show this year with nothing but CONFIDENCE. I owned those stages and it showed!!

Theatre has had such a large impact on my friends and community. Those are the people who I am most comfortable with, and I wouldn’t give that up for anything.

Show Choir

Now that I’ve arrived at the hotel for our final overnight show choir competition, I’m feeling a little strange. Some huge part of my life is almost gone, and I’m not really sure what to do about it.

Looking back on these four years, the confidence I’ve gained from these competitions is absolutely insane. I now can strut down 4 rows of risers and hit a pose with absolutely NO hesitation. If freshman year Erin in the back row saw me now, she wouldn’t believe it.

Goodbyes

Sorry for the sappiest little blog ever, I hope it brought everyone some joy. I’d love to hear some of your favorite senior year moments as of now, or any memories from these four years.

The time is now for us to graduate and move on, so make sure you’re enjoying every second of it. Even if you have an entire semester project to do before it ends. 🙂

First Confirmed Case of Coronavirus in Omaha, Nebraska

As I prepare for my next competition with Entourage, (It’s at North $20 for an all-day pass, shameless plug, February 15th) I wanted to reflect on my previous competition in the sparkling land of Omaha, Nebraska.

As I packed for this exciting and unreal experience, I began to worry. What was I going to wear? What if I didn’t know the dances? Or even worse, what if the competition doesn’t have good food????

As I quickly fell into a downward spiral of worry, I decided to procrastinate packing until as late as humanly possible. I went on with my week carefree, avoiding my impending doom.

As Thursday quickly approached, I made sure to finish my homework all the way through Monday’s assignments, as I knew I’d have no time to complete it otherwise. When Thursday had finally arrived, I was beyond excited.

I showed up to our dress rehearsal, ready to go with my trusty hair-tie and a new pair of tights. As I squeezed into my corset for our opening, I felt the nerves of everyone building up. We all had so much left to do! It was already 6 pm on Thursday night, 12 hours before the bus left for North, and I hadn’t packed or curled my hair!

After we had a smooth few run-throughs of our show with costumes and the combo (shoutout to the Hot Brockets, y’all amaze me), I was ready to lie in bed and sleep. That was until I realized I had hours worth of packing to do.

I rushed home in a frenzy and curled my hair as fast as humanly possible, and got to work. The number of things to pack had increased dramatically from previous years because we were staying an extra day. As I shoved clothes and makeup and my conditioner into a tiny duffel bag, I looked at myself and thought: “that is very much adequate.”

As I finished preparing myself for the long trip ahead, I settled down for bed at 2:30 am, ready for a long winter’s nap. Suddenly, my alarm starts beeping and it’s 4:00 am…Time to get up! I hopped in the shower, drove to get some Dunkin’, and dragged myself into the building.

As we all lugged our bags onto the bus, the energy really kicked in. Although the trip was long, it was jam-packed with joy. At the World’s Largest Truck Stop in Iowa, and then spent the rest of the day munching on Culver’s and singing show tunes.

As we arrived in Omaha, we enjoyed a night of BRUTAL rehearsals, we finally got to the hotel, and with that, a night of silly dancing and eating Pringles.

Waking up on Saturday, I had accumulated about 4 hours of sleep in 2 ½ days. Despite my sleep deprivation, I was nothing but ready to take on Millard West. We drove to the school and spent the morning cheering on High Heeled Harmony and eating Panda Express (thank god for good food). Soon enough, it was time to take the stage. In my…unique…costume, I strutted down the hallways to warmups.

As we all held hands and sang our ballad together, we knew we were ready to perform. We took the stage, and for 15 minutes I felt the happiness that I had missed for so long. We performed our asses off and had the rest of the day to watch groups and have fun. Or so I thought.

As I walked off the stage, I felt AWFUL. Legit so sick and gross. I sat through the critique we had but spent the rest of the day nauseous and ill. As the finalists were announced and Entourage was one of them, everyone was so thrilled. Although all I wanted to do was perform, I didn’t think it was humanly possible.

I sat and basically cried for two hours, so upset and angry with my body, I felt like it

was rejecting me. I called my mom crying, and she dragged me to the nurse in the school. I kept yelling that they wouldn’t let me perform, but my mom was having NONE of it. She sat me down and as they took my temperature, a shroud of worry clouded the nurse’s face.

“102.3”

WHAT??? Absolutely not. I started sobbing. There was no way that I was going to miss a performance my last year in show choir. Unfortunately, mother knows best, and she made me pack up my bags, give some air hugs goodbye (couldn’t risk whatever awful illness I had spreading to others), and was on my way.

Although I did get to watch the performance through Facetime, I definitely am still heartbroken over my loss of a performance. Despite that, I now realize how much I have to cherish all of my other performances.

With all this being said, it’s our senior year! So, what better way to spend your Saturday than coming on down to Clash of the Sequins on February 15th at North and enjoy my final year of show choir with me!! See y’all there!

(Also I don’t have Coronavirus, it was just strep sorry for the clickbait).

Grab a Spoon and Dig In!

Hey bloggers! I’ve really missed writing these, honestly. It gets my mind active and also allows me to share my unimportant, yet controversial, opinions. Today’s topic: cereal.

You might be wondering where I got such an exciting and creative idea. I’m not quite sure, but all I remember is sitting in AP Lit, minding my own business when I heard someone trash-talking my FAVORITE cereal. It suddenly struck me, I needed to share my love of a very hated cereal – Raisin Bran. I then realized that would be the WORST blog ever, so I expanded my horizons.

Without further ado, I present to you (in no particular order…well, kind of) my favorite cereals!

Raisin Bran

Now, this may be a shocker to many, but raisin bran is my

all-time favorite cereal. Not only does the bran have a FANTASTIC texture to it, but the raisins are covered in the sweetest sugar imaginable. I am not one to ever enjoy raisins (in fact I find them disgusting), except for in a big bowl of Raisin Bran. It truly starts my day off right.

One other point I’d like to bring up is the sogginess in milk. Many people hate on this cereal for the soggy bran, but I am also one of those people that prefers dry cereal. Milk in cereal makes me nauseous, so here we are.

Raisin Bran is the ideal snack or meal for anyone who is seeking a delicious, but not terribly unhealthy meal. Also, I’m gonna say it…the bran will do wonders for all of your digestive systems.

Cocoa Puffs

This one is for sure a classic, as it pleases just about everyone. It is hands down the best chocolate cereal (none of that Cocoa Pebbles B.S. because those are disgusting and you know it).

When you take a good spoonful of Cocoa Puffs, you get such a good bite due to their size. They are crunchy, although they have a lot of air incorporated into them. As I mentioned earlier, I don’t like to have milk with my cereal, but if I do, Cocoa Puffs are my go-to because of how they make the milk all chocolatey.

If you’re looking for a classic that isn’t too risky, Cocoa Puffs are the best choice. They are great for all ages, and the simple ingredients and taste allow for even the pickiest of eaters (me) to enjoy!

Mini-Wheats

Don’t get me wrong, Mini-Wheats are by no means the best cereal, but the sugary coated pieces are unbeatable. The actual wheat part is kind of disgusting and tastes like cardboard, but the sugar!!!! You can’t go wrong with a nice bowl of Mini-Wheats, especially the way they soak up the milk (okay so maybe I do like cereal with milk sometimes).

Looking at the health aspect of cereal, Mini-Wheats are not nearly as terrible as some others (don’t get me started on Trix, they’re just straight sugar). Although the icing on each one adds to the health risks of each bite, that whole-grain base really makes you feel okay about what you’re eating.

If you’re looking for a sweet but filling afternoon snack, I’d recommend a hefty bowl of Mini-Wheats.

Cheerios

On the extreme health side of cereal, I’m a sucker for Cheerios. They are so simple, yet so versatile. Mixing them with fruits and even some honey? Amazing. I think plain cheerios with honey are the best, but only if I put the honey on myself (Honey Nut Cheerios are not it for me).

Cheerios are also my go-to food when I’m sick. When you get the stomach flu, you can’t really do anything except for eat crackers…or Cheerios! Cheerios are the ideal dry food that goes down easy but still tastes yummy!

Now although most people will reach for Honey Nut Cheerios when moseying through Jewel-Osco, if you’re looking for something that you can be creative with, regular Cheerios are your cereal!

Cap’n Crunch

I’m leaving this as my final cereal because although I do love it, I’m hesitant to include it on my list. As a child, I ate Cap’n Crunch constantly, and I love the taste of it, but the one downside is that it always seems to cut up my mouth. The jagged edges are not ideal, but the taste overpowers that.

Cap’n Crunch is probably my weirdest choice on here, but its spot is well-deserved. As a cereal enthusiast, I’ve always found that sometimes, you just get bored. I eat Raisin Bran more than I’d like to admit, but every once in a while I want something new and fresh. This is when I turn to a good bowl of Cap’n Crunch.

Cap’n Crunch is an odd cereal, as it has a very distinct taste, along with an even weirder texture. The actual shape of it also confuses me, so please let me know if you know why the cereal is shaped like that. After going through my other 4 choices, I realized I didn’t have a wild card. I had nothing too exciting until I remembered the joy of munching on some Cap’n Crunch.

If you’re looking for a change in scenery, this one’s for you.

After spending a lot of time researching and eating cereal in order to formulate a quality opinion and list, what I learned is that every cereal has it’s upsides and downsides, but with that, every single one is a great way to start your day off right, crunching away on a good bowl of whatever you want! (Except for Apple Jacks, those are disgusting.)
