Hello! My name is Emily. I have one younger sister and a dog, whose name is Dakota. I have lived in Illinois since the start of freshmen year. I like spending time with friends and family. And one of the things that we do to spend time with family is traveling. Traveling has brought me closer to people and has created so many memories for me.

I like to do a lot of things in my spare time. For instance, I play soccer and I love to read. One of my favorite book series is The Mortal Instruments written by Cassandra Clare. I also like to watch TV and movies. My favorite TV show is “Friends” and my favorite movie is “The Breakfast Club.” I like to watch sports on TV, especially on the weekends, and my sport of choice to watch is soccer and football. I also like to listen to music, especially when doing school work, it helps me focus more. I mostly listen to Panic! at the Disco, Queen, and Ariana Grande; but I also listen to a variety of other genres and singers.

One of my favorite times of year is fall. I love when the leaves change color, it makes everything so pretty. I also love colder weather and wearing sweaters. The best holidays, Halloween and Thanksgiving, are also during the fall. My family travels to southern Colorado, every year, where we visit our family for Thanksgiving. And some years we have gone shopping on Black Friday, which is always an interesting experience. I also love days when it rains. A rainy day always makes me feel better, for some reason. I think it is just a calming thing for me.

I really like to own collection of certain things as well. I like to collect hard rock pins from the different cities I have been to, and I have around 30-40 so far. I also like to collect books and Funko Pop, which are like little figures of movie and TV show characters. I have close to 80 of them, and I have been collecting them for a few years now. I think collections are really fun because it gives you something to keep forever, with memories of where and when you got them.

Since I travel a lot, I think my dream vacation would be to go to either Germany or Amsterdam. I really want to go to Amsterdam to see the Anne Frank House, which is a place I’ve wanted to visit since middle school. I actually have been to Germany, but it was only for about a day, and I really want to go back and spend some more time there, especially since a lot of my favorite sports teams are based there. I would really like to see a game in person one day.

One last thing I will talk about are my values in life. One of the main things that I value is gratitude. I think it is so important to be grateful in life. One thing that I have learned that has kind of stuck with me is waking up each morning and making a list of three things you are grateful for. You have to pick three different things each day. For me, the things I am grateful for can range from my parents to nice weather. I think it is important to be grateful fro not only the big things in life, but the little things as well.
