My favorite places in Naperville

My favorite places in Naperville

In this blog, I am going to talk about my favorite places in Naperville.

1). Tous Les Jours

Tous Les Jours is first on my list mainly because I’ve worked there for a while. Almost 2 years now. I absolutely love the atmosphere of the store. It’s very cozy, very clean, and is so welcoming. I also really like the color scheme of brown, beige, and green. The bread and cakes are really really good. My favorites will have to be the kimchi croquette, tomato olive danish, and the milk bread. They are all so delicious. The cakes are wonderful as well. The blueberry and mango cakes are so good. It’s like eating a flavored cloud. I also really enjoyed eating the mochi there, but they stopped selling it. Tous Les Jours was my first official job, so it’ll always be special to me. I love my coworkers, too. The staff is genuinely so kind and helpful and funny and lovely and amazing. They truly feel like my family. They really look out for me and for each other. I also love this place because I get free bread!

2). The Resale Shop

I am talking about the resale shop near Tous Les Jours. It is so nice and cozy there. Yum yum yum! Recently, I have purchased a pair of Levi denim shorts which are actually prices at around $50- $60 but I got it for $5.25! I was actually mind-blown when I saw those shorts! It makes me happy right now just thinking about it. I also purchased a white shirt and it’s very very cute. It was $2.75. I also love how they sell art there. I also love browsing the movies, music, and clothing.

3). Ayesha Khan’s House

I love Ayesha Khan’s house!!!!!

Especially her room. It has a bunch of wall decorations and it overall is very cozy and nice to be in. She also has a blanket with monkeys and bananas on it. I also really like her basement and I enjoy watching Napoleon Dynamite in there. Ayesha’s house also usually has icelandic yogurt, and that is the best type of yogurt. Personally, I am a huge fan of Siggi’s yogurt. I could eat that for the rest of my life. Ayesha’s house also has very high ceilings and beautiful natural light which I really really enjoy.

4). Kilwins

I also love Kilwins!! I went to Kilwins for the first time this year with Celina. It was when we were at the library together, trying to work on CommonApp essays. I think Kilwins ice cream is very rich. I especially like the chocolate flavor, and I’d like to try the Blue Moon flavor later on in the future. Kilwins also has great chocolate coins and caramel chews.

5). Nichol’s Library

I love the library because it helps me focus. But also because it’s really nice. I have a lot of memories there, especially because of the amount of time I spent sitting there, either writing college essays or studying for tests. I remember there was a solid month where I would be there almost every day.

6). Affordable Antiques

I love Affordable Antiques! Everytime I go in there, I always find a lot of things I want to purchase. So far, I would like to purchase a ring holder, a little box with angels on it, a locket necklace, and a tea cup set. I think the tea cup set would be great to have for tea parties in the future. I think the overall atmosphere of it is very cool. It kind of reminds me of Harry Potter because of how many cool things there are. I think there are also a lot of historical pieces which I think are really cool.

  1. Esther,
Thank you for sharing your favorite places in Naperville as I am interested in visiting new places. I totally agree with you on Tous Les Jours because that place is absolutely amazing. You totally just reminded me to go visit again as it has actually been a while. I also enjoy eating the kimchi croquette but my favorite is the tiramisu. Both the resale shop and affordable antiques place sounds very interesting so I will definitely find some time to visit. I always like finding new things to buy. The day I found Kilwins was the day I found joy.

  2. Hi Esther!
Thanks for sharing all your favorite spots in Naperville! Definitely a few hidden gems I have never heard of, namely The Resale Shop. I go thrifting probably a little bit too often, and I always love finding new spots, so thanks for pointing this one out! My go to spot for the past few months has been the Salvation Army in Darien. It is gigantic and WAY better than the Naperville Goodwill or Plato’s Closet, in terms of selection and cost, but it is kinda far away from my house, and sometimes I don’t feel like going that far. I will definitely check out The Resale Shop in the future! I also totally agree about Siggi’s yogurt, I eat it every single day for breakfast, and I honestly think I will get a mini fridge in college just so I can keep my own personal stash of Siggi’s.
