Hello.
Today, I am going to write about my 5th period AP Studio Art class. More specifically, the people in it. More specifically, Claire Shallcross. If you didn’t know, Claire Shallcross also in in AP Lit. She’s in 2nd period, and I am in 1st. We know each other from AP Studio Art and Mind and Body (8th period).
In the beginning of the year, we sat apart from each other as we were seated in different tables. Then, when the seating arrangement changed, my whole world changed.
Everyday, I have the absolute privilege of sitting next to Claire Shallcross. She blesses me with her humor, her thoughts, and a daily compliment.
A regular day in AP Studio will look like this:
- I walk in and get my art work set up. Sometimes I will go to the bathroom quickly.
- Then, Claire will walk in and she will usually always have some kind of drink with her. Sometimes its from Dunkin Donuts, other times, it’s from Burger King.
- Then we work on our art. Currently I am painting paper with watercolor so I can rip it up and make it into hands. Claire is working on her collage about why nobody purchases black cats.
- Then she will (at some point during the period) give me a compliment. They range from compliments about my outfits to my hair to my artwork.
- Then we will continue working on our art. I have an alarm set for 12:17 everyday except Wednesday because I leave AP Studio early to catch the bus to go to Naperville Central to go to my Latin class there.
- Then I say goodbye to her before I leave for Latin.
Claire is such a funny and nice person. I really enjoy listening to her talk because she is always so interesting to listen to. I enjoy listening to her work experience, and I enjoy listening to her stories and experiences in creative writing. We also talk a lot about The Vampire Diaries and Elena Gilbert. We also listen to Anna talk about her adventures with fashion and her love life.
Claire, if you are reading this, I hope you enjoyed this blogpost about you. You truly deserve the best in life. I also really appreciate all the compliments you give me so thank you for that.
Now, I will talk about Claire in Mind and Body.
Claire is also in my gym class 8th period. Sometimes I see her in the locker room and sometimes I see her walking to the bathroom. Since our last names both start with ‘S’, we sit pretty close to each other. I wave to her a lot. Sometimes I see her walking around on the track whenever we go outside for Mind and Body. It always makes my day whenever I see her because I see her twice a day: in AP Studio, and in Mind and Body. I’ve had such a fun time this year being a friend of Claire Shallcross.
This is really wholesome but also there’s something slightly rigid about the tone that, in combination with all the compliments, slightly makes it sound like you’re being held at gunpoint to write this lol (I’m so sorry if that’s at all rude I just think it’s funny)
Esther, I am also a fan of Claire Shallcross. Whenever I see Claire, I wave to her out of habit even though I usually do not wave to people in the hallways. I remember clearly that once she drew a very detailed cat so I understand why she shares AP Studio Art with you. She is also really good at giving compliments, which inspires me to openly compliment people more. I enjoyed this well-written ode to Claire Shallcross.
You guys are too nice!
Esther, I literally love you so much. Reading this and the comments made my whole day. I have quite literally read your blog every single day since it has been posted because it makes me smile. I love having you in so many of my classes and I am so glad that I got the pleasure of becoming your friend this semester. I hope we have classes next semester too. I love your style and persona, which is why I am always complimenting you! I think you are such a beautiful person, inside and out. Thank you for your kind words of love and encouragement. Love the photo btw(;
