I was looking through the class blog page attempting to find inspiration for my final blog, when I came across Sam’s blog, where she gave a rundown of her day from beginning to end. I thought this was really interesting. I’m one of those people addicted to “day in my life” TikTok or YouTube vlogs, so I thought it would be fun to give a rundown of what I did this Wednesday!
THE RINK While most students take advantage of Wednesday to sleep in, attempting to catch up on the hours they’ve lost to homework or studying, I spend my Wednesday mornings a little differently. Because I also chose to have a late arrival in place of a class, I don’t need to be at school until 9:40 on Wednesdays and 8:30 every other day. What does this mean? I spend every Wednesday and Friday morning at the rink! While I sometimes dread the early wake up, morning ice forces me to have a productive start to my day, something I greatly appreciate. This morning, my freestyle coach made me jump and a fun fact about me is that I hate jumping. They look cool, but are hands down my least favorite thing to practice. Despite this, my morning session left me feeling ready to conquer the rest of the day, and I treated myself to a coffee on the way home, because why not?
LIT After a quick stop at home to grab my lunch and backpack, say good morning (and goodbye) to my mom, and change my clothes, I made my way to school. Starting off my morning watching Hamlet has been a nice way to ease into the school day. It’s been interesting watching Hamlet, because it’s something I would never choose to read or watch on my own. Even though sometimes I barely understand what they’re actually saying, for the most part I’ve enjoyed watching Hamlet!
PSYCH I love AP Psych. It was one of those classes I eagerly signed up for, after only hearing good things about the class, and I’ve loved everything about it! We started by taking notes on social conflict and then transitioned to studying for our midterm tomorrow. I have to admit, my tablemates and I largely struggled during the Jeopardy game, coming in second to last place. Tonight will be dedicated to some hardcore studying for the multiple choice portion tomorrow.

STATS I’m not a math person, nor will I ever be a math person. I admire those of you who are not only good at math, but enjoy doing it. Thankfully, my class did not have to do the much feared probability quiz that had been originally assigned. I was extremely grateful for this, as probability makes zero sense to me. The period was instead dedicated to independent study, where I stressed over a test I have to make up. Wish me luck, my grade and I need it!
LUNCH As an introvert, I crave moments of silence and isolation. I like to use my lunch period as a break from socialization. I spent the time texting my friend about her tryout for Miami University’s skating team and scrolling through TikTok mindlessly. It was a much needed break in my day.
STUDY HALL I spent the entire period reviewing homework and FRQs for the previously mentioned Stats test I have to make up. Nothing really interesting happened during this period.
SOCIOLOGY In Sociology, we had a sub which means practically nothing got done. The period was dedicated to working on our upcoming Actual Innocence presentations, but my group was basically finished with ours, so the period was spent talking about anything other than Sociology. This was another class that many people recommended and I have loved taking it! The topics and structure of the class are unique and so interesting, and it’s a class I will definitely recommend taking junior or senior year to any underclassmen.
STUDY HALL PT 2 Due to some schedule changes late last semester, I ended up getting put into a second study hall. On some days, this is especially needed, and a great opportunity to work on any assignments or study for upcoming tests. Other days, it’s nice to just have a period to scroll on my phone or read a book of my choice if I have nothing to do for school. Today I (unsurprisingly) did more studying for my stats test. I wish it was more exciting but alas.

THE RINK PT 2 After school, I immediately drove back to the rink. I had a lesson with a different coach and then got to spend some time working on drills for my synchro team and just messing around with one of my best friends and our coach. She doesn’t do synchro with me anymore, so I savor any moment we get to spend together.
ENDING THE NIGHT To finish off my day, I ate dinner with my family and then hopped onto a phone call to talk with my coach and co-captain of my team to go over some of our responsibilities and upcoming tasks. Afterwards, I drove my sister to her volleyball practice, and then studied for my psych midterm when I got home. I told myself I wouldn’t spend too much time on my phone before falling asleep, but next thing I knew it was midnight and I realized I needed to go to sleep.
Sorry for ranting for way too long (sorry to whoever has to read this), but I hope you enjoyed following along with my day! I thought this was really fun to write and a nice way to finish off my blog.
I LOVE THIS IDEA.
Like you, I love “day in the life” tik toks. They are so interesting to watch, from a random person to a celebrity. To start, WOW do our Wednesdays look different. All I can say is, I certainly do not wake up early to exercise but power to you girl. Super short review of my typical Wednesday:
– Wake up 7:00ish and get dressed and ready for the day. I like to put on my makeup, pack my lunch, get my bag ready for soccer, put on a good outfit, etc.
-Leave my house 7:30 ish to get breakfast with my mom, sister, and my friend Hayley. Recently we have been loving Honey Berry.
-APES. Not my favorite class but love my teacher-mid start to the day,
-LIT. I have loved Hamlet as well, so relaxing and enjoyable.
-MATH. So bad right now. All we are doing is reviewing and I have wasted all those days not paying attention.
-AML. Love this class but most of the work is done outside of school so in class time is boring. Mostly edit stories the whole time.
-LUNCH. Bless up. I go home basically every day.
-GYM. SO boring. I hate PE leading and I hate my freshmen.
-SPANISH. I absolutely hate this class its so hard.
-VOICES. The hottest classroom of my life. I fall asleep everyday.
-Soccer practice/game. Best part of everyday I swear I would die without it. I love my team and my coaches so much.
-Dinner&shower&bed
The end:)
Hi Abbi. This was a fun blog to read. I think my favorite part of your day is your morning rink procedure. That’s cool and I like that you choose to spend the extra time you get to do that and be progressive.
My usual day would go like this:
Wake up around 5:30 to do a quick prayer
Go back to sleep till around 6:30
Get ready
Go to school
Strength and Performance is always fun, however I have been getting less motivated recently, so I have to get back on track
English is nice and a bit more relaxed now
Math is always nice, and my favorite part is that I’m in the mobiles and I get Mr. Kim, who was my teacher in my junior year, which is great.
Psychology is great and Mr. Scott is a very enjoyable teacher. I’m not sure which is my favorite class of the day, but this could well be my favorite period of the day.
Chemistry is fun, since I have certain friends in the class. It’s also my favorite classroom, since it’s very pleasant to be in.
Lunch is nice and I use it to listen to some of my favorite music.
Anatomy is fun and I have one of my best friends in the class with me.
Spanish recently became an odd favorite of mine, since my group is fun and I do have friends in the class. Spanish can be a bit tiresome at this point, but I do enjoy it.
Now, most of the classes recently have been a lot of reviewing, which is fine, but not as eventful.
I come back home, eat, drink some Indian chai, talk to my mom, and get ready.
I won’t start work immediately, instead I’ll watch some television and then slowly start working. And yeah, I sometimes tell myself I’ll sleep a bi early, however, it isn’t the case, which is my fault, but I don’t mind it.
This was a fun final blog.
Love this!
