Hi, Abraam. I also found those 5 deaths funny (where did you even find those?). I especially laughed at Aeschylus’s death and how he fulfilled the prophecy even though he tried to avoid it. I also found it interesting that have an elaborate plan for how you are going to die.
Hello Abraam. It is clear that Greek’s had a lot of fun back in the olden days and were always trying to up the bar on dumb deaths. Reading about these actually makes me pity those who simply died in their sleep or of old age, because of how boring it sounds. Like you stated, I would like my death to be elaborate and eventful, instead of a boring one. Hopefully once the time comes, I will have contemplated the purpose of my life, and my death will be fulfilling as another step on the journey of a lifetime.
It was really interesting to hear about history’s flunked deaths. It was quite absurd I must say, but you did mention that you wanted to die in a cool way and out of curiosity would let death take you in the most painful fashion possible if it would solidify you as having the coolest death ever? Though dying to suffocation via cloaks is quite the joke, I wonder how Draco felt as he saw the cloth piling up on him and felt the air exude his lungs and slowly blacking out as he can’t get the air back. Must have been slow and frustrating. I bet he would have thought it absurd.
Abraam, I completely agree with your notion of going out in a cool way. Death is the last chance you have to leave an imprint on the world. Most people, not by any fault of their own, end up passing away quietly and peacefully. However nice it would be to die relaxed and surrounded by loved ones, I want them to have a good story to tell. If I could die in some crazy way, that’s not too painful, I would choose that over any other way. If that crazy thing is also something I love doing even better. Life is meant to be lived so why not die living. Those people you mentioned certainly had some interesting deaths, and I hope that I don’t die from a turtle being dropped on my head. It is interesting to see that those people have been somewhat immortalized because of their deaths. They continue to live even though they died long ago in horrific fashion. Thanks for the fun read and interesting information Abraam.
