If you had to be drafted into the military or any other branch of the American army, and you had no choice of when or how you’re getting there you will just be picked up and sent off to someplace in the world where it is probably very dangerous and may not have the best chance to survive.
If you had no choice but to fight for your country would you rebell? or run away? ort maybe you would be confidenty and happy that your country would like you to serve for them. To most people, if they were uprooted from their family, job, and everything else that literally is ther world and just placed in some war zone where who knows how far from home you are and how long you will be or even if you will ever make it back.
In the world war 2 alone aout sixteen million soldiers served and one million were either killed in action or wounded thats roughly a one in sixteen chace of coming back unharmed and safe, at least physically.
To be taken from your family and thrown into a war is the most one-eighty or turn of anyone normal routine, to be taken from yout cushy safe and hopefully paying well job to have to serve while possible gunfire is apon you and anyone else with you who is most likely from the same type of life, getting a nice suit and tie going to work maybe nine to five and was also thrown into the war and probably has the same question as you if you were in this situation, “why am I here?”.
Whether you like it or not upon the age of eight teens you have to list yourself to be possibly thrown into any war at the time, and if you don’t think you will be put on the front line or maybe in a worse situation than you would be naive and you have absolutely zero clue as to what is to come next, and I can almost guarantee you will wish you would have run away while you still could have. Where would you have gone? what would people think of you, would they look up to you and wish they had the guts to do the same or would they be disappointed and think of you as a traitor. Even if you wish to run away, where do you go? north? south? or maybe you hide and hope they never find you, either way your life will not be the same as it was the moment you get notified you have been drafted.
Where would you go? If I had to be drafted into the war and especially a war I did not agree with, I would have to run, why would I possibly give my one life that I know I have to a country that honestly isn’t really the best, what have they done for me? Probably nothing other than being able to tell what country you are in and maybe help provide education.
With this information I would hope anyone reading this would take a second and consider the possibility of you being drafted and I hope you come to a decision on what you would do even if you come back unharmed what you have seen and experienced will always be with you whether you like it or not.
