Dominique Jones, known professionally as Lil Baby,  rose to fame in 2017 after releasing his mixtape Perfect Timing. He is best known for his singles “Drip Too Hard”, “Freestyle”, “Yes Indeed”, and many more. He has dominated the rap game throughout 2020, making hits after hits that would always reach the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. He did not do this alone, crediting another rapper, Young Thug, who pushed him to leave the street life and become a rapper.

2. Lil Uzi Vert

Lil Uzi Vert gained a lot of attention after releasing his first top ten single “XO Tour Llif3”. His unique style of rapping, eccentric hairstyles, and face tattoos makes him one of the best and most liked rappers right now. Bringing on a darker and more melodic emo form of rap, he has been able to gain millions of views and streams during 2020.

3. Travis Scott

For the past 3 years, Travis Scott has been one of the most well known rappers. His style of music has been described as a mix of traditional rap and hip hop. During 2020, he has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards, and won a Billboard Music Award and a Latin Grammy Award. After releasing “Franchise” in September 2020, he became the first artist on the Hot 100 Billboard to have three songs at number one in less than a year.

4. Drake

Ranked as the world’s highest certified digital singles artists by the Recording Industry Association of America, Drake has proven to be one of the greatest rappers of all time. He gained billions of views during 2020 and was up for six awards at the 2020 BET Awards. His list of accomplishments and awards are higher then any other rappers right now.

5. Roddy Rich

Roddy Rich quickly rose to fame after releasing his hit single “The Box” in February 2020. He gained millions of views from songs like “Gifted”, “Start Wit Me”, “Boom Boom Boom”, and many more. He became the first artist to achieve his first two number-one singles in the same year since Ed Sheeran did in 2017. He also won Album of the Year at the 2020 BET awards with his most recent album “Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial” and has gained millions of views and streams from each song in the album.

6. DaBaby

DaBaby became popular for his speedy run-on-sentence raps which made him stand out in the current “trap-heavy” rap scene. He is most known for his single “Suge” and his two debut studio albums Baby on Baby and Kirk. He was and still is one of the hottest rappers out right now as he keeps releasing more music with different rappers. In 2020, his third studio album Blame It on Baby became his second consecutive number one album in the United States, which includes his highest charting song “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Rich.

7. YoungBoy Never Broke Again

YoungBoy has been at the top of the rap game ever since he released “Untouchable” in 2017. YoungBoy quickly blew up again in 2020 when he released Al YoungBoy 2, which peaked at number one on the Billboard 200. He has worked with many great artists, such as Juice Wrld, who passed away in 2019 due to a drug overdose. YoungBoy also jumped from number seven to number one on the Rolling Stone Artists 500 from February 21st to February 27th.

8. Trippie Redd

Known for his unique chill and relaxing style of rap, Trippie Redd has been one of the most creative rappers to make it big in the past couple years. Every time he releases an album or a song, it always climbs up the Billboard charts. His most recent album released in 2020, Pegasus, and reached number two of the Billboard 200. He has also gained millions of views this year with songs like “Excitement”, “The Way”, and “Weeeeeee”.

9. Lil Durk

Lil Durk, even with legal troubles, still became one of the best rappers in 2020. For Lil Durk, 2020 was a successful year, dropping two well received studio albums, Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 and The Voice. He was also featured on Drake’s Top 5 single “Laugh Now Cry Later” which has over 220 million views on YouTube earned him two Grammy nominations. Lil Durk thinks he’s one of the top three rappers right now tweeting, “I need 200k a show now Smurk top 3 out here…”

10. Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion was also one of the most successful rappers of 2020. Megan became the second most-nominated act at the 2020 American Music Awards, she released her debut studio album Good News which peaked in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, and gained millions of views and streams with her catchy songs that she released or was apart of. Megan is known for her songs “Don’t Stop”, “Cry Baby”, and was even featured on Cardi B’s popular song “WAP” which blew her up even more in 2020
