IN A NUTSHELL…
So a little bit about me– my name is Kelly Zhou and right now I’m 16 and a senior at NNHS. I have a sister who’s in college (ftfo!) and also a cat that’s really obnoxiously fat. You can often catch me repping NNHS swim apparel given that most of my time is indeed consumed by swim. I’ve been swimming for so long that it really has become one of my key identifying factors.
I think, nowadays, a really interesting analysis of one’s identity can be conducted based on their phone usage. With that being said, some of my most used apps include Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Youtube, Netflix and NFL Mobile which leads to the fact that some of my pastimes include keeping up with pop culture and checking Twitter’s news feed on the daily and also watching every TV show possible. I also keep up with sports pretty regularly and I am a self-proclaimed huge sports fan. Most people would be surprised to know that I dedicate every Sunday to football and to praying that the Bears have a good week. I’d like to say that I’m a huge sports nerd in the sense where I do follow sports almost religiously and could talk about (if asked) to no end.
I also spend a lot of time (or at least used to) on Netflix binging. I’ve seen nearly every season of every hit show on there and also not on there. Most recently, though, I watched Breaking Bad but had to stop because it gave me secondhand depression. Nonetheless, I’m really excited for the movie to come out (soon-ish I think?). Also, a TV show that I’m really excited for is the premiere of SNL this weekend. I started watching SNL late last year and I really enjoy the nuanced comedic timing of a lot of their sketches and punchlines within them. And I think it’s really cool to see actors act out things that are really out of their element or portray characters that they would never be type-casted for. Also, last thing, staying on the comedy brand, I also have been enjoying Dave Chappelle’s comedy specials on Netflix as of late as well.
Other random facts about me include that I have a scarily consistent coffee routine where I rotate between Starbucks, Peet’s and occasionally Dunkin, so don’t be surprised to see me at one of those places at least once a day. Recently, though, I’ve been really enjoying plain Starbucks Cold Brew because the aftertaste of it is somehow better than any other coffee that I’ve had. But anyway, ask me for coffee recommendations and I’d be happy to give my two cents.

(a social media meme that surprisingly captures more moments in my life than one could imagine)
On a more serious note, I hope that by blogging I can explore the depths of my personality that don’t often spill out of me. I think my interests are just so widespread that it’s like if you threw a bunch of things into a blender, my personality is what you could define as the resulting mixture. A lot of people actually tell me that nothing explains me more as a person than this meme — which is fair enough because I think I am very passionate on a lot of different things in my life to the extent where even I can hardly even keep up with my own interests. But…through this blog hopefully more are willing to take on this challenge.
Thanks for listening & enjoy!
