About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Kaitlyn Woods.

I am a senior at Naperville North High School. I am currently a member of the mixed show choir Entourage and this is my fourth year in show choir at Naperville North. In addition to show choir, I take voice lessons, am in curricular choir, and I participate in musicals at North. Although I love performing, I am also really interested in psychology and teaching, but I have many different passions in my academic life. I also like to spend time doing puzzles and hanging out with my three pets.

My family is a very important part of my life. My family consists of my mom, dad, 2 sisters, my dog, and my 2 cats. Our family went through some big changes this year. My older sister, Taylor, is a college freshman and she is going to Rider University all the way out in New Jersey. She is majoring in musical theater. My younger sister, Rachael, is a freshman in high school. She also joined show choir and is in High Heeled Harmony. My dog, Sunny, is a yellow lab and is 8 years old. My oldest cat is named Snowy and he has the softest fur of any cat I have ever met. Our kitten is named Cookie and she is crazy but adorable.

Performing has always been a major part of my life. I have taken dance classes since I was 3 years old, and I started singing and acting when I was about 7. When I was in 4th grade, I got into the competitive dance ensemble at my dance studio, and I was on it until sophomore year of high school. I started taking voice lessons when I was in 5th grade, and I have continued my weekly lessons since then. I found my passion for musicals when I was in 4th grade, and I have participated in musicals at many different places since then. My freshman year, I joined show choir at Naperville North. I was a dance captain of the all female show choir High Heeled Harmony my sophomore year. My junior year, I made it into the mixed show choir Entourage, and I became a dance captain for this group my senior year. Theater and performing are a very important part of my life, and I continue to find as many ways as possible to participate in them.

While I do love performing, I have many other passions in my academic life and free time. I think psychology is very interesting and I love to think about why we at the way we do. I really enjoy helping people and I’ve always thought teaching might be interesting because I can help many different people find a passion for learning. Interestingly enough, I also enjoy math. I know a lot of people really dislike that subject, but I like the feeling of knowing how to solve a complicated problem and knowing I’m right about it.

I’ve never blogged before, so this will be an interesting experience and I can’t wait to see how it goes. In this blog, I’m going to talk about short stories, what’s entertaining, what’s important, and what’s online. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy!
