Hello, my name is Gavin Drummond. These next songs will help me describe my life to you the reader. please enjoy
1.Closure- Trevor Daniel
Overall this so is about looking forward rather than getting suck on failures. For example, the chorus to this song goes “If it’s over, then it’s over
Do not hit my line just ‘cause you need closure
You said it yourself, you don’t want me
Now I’m fine on my own, and you’re lonely”
This shows two different takes on a break-up. First is the ex-girlfriend who is unable to move on the failed relationship and has stayed the same person. Then there’s Trevor Daniels, who uses this failed relationship as a learning experience and uses these lessons to improve in the present, and he does not need closure as he has moved on. I strive to be like this as I always want to look towards the future ranter than ponder on past.
2. 4 min convo- Boogie Wit da Hoodie
This song is about reality when one becomes famous, everybody wants to become your friends and you are the center of attention. The song literally starts ” I woke up to 99 missed calls, that’s like 99 people I probably pissed off” when your being looked under a microscope your flaws show. This song overall reminds me of two things. The first being always shows your best you to the public and never lets the public business move. The second is to surround yourself with people with the same goals if the people around you don’t push you to reach a goal.
3.Broke and Stupid- Joyner Lucas
“Being broke is bad, but being stupid is whats really really bad”- I like this song because it debunks the value of money. A lot of people believe money success comes with money, although this isn’t inherently wrong it is not 100% the truth. My best real-life example is Pro Overwatch player Dafran who was a cook at Mcdonald, making a minimum wage from 9-5 then grinding Overwatch 5-9. Dafran is now has a Networth of about 2.5million dollars. Dafran made his name from doing something he loved but he also played the game of life right. Currently, I am doing something similar, I go to school 6-3 and grind Overwatch 4 pm to about 2 am, it is not easy, but I wouldn’t trade the world for the hours I put into Overwatch.
