Hello! My name is Ellie and I am currently a senior at NNHS! On this blog, I will be reviewing and analyzing short stories and also talking about my interests and passions outside of AP Lit.
To start off, I love drawing and calligraphy and a quick glance at any of my school notes will reveal this. I am currently enrolled in Ceramics 2 (I have no idea why) and while I am definitely not the next successful potter of our generation, I do enjoy the nice break in my day.
I also am a diver and gymnast at North and spend a large majority of my afternoons at the pool or gym. For the past 15 years, I have been heavily involved in competitive cheer, diving, and gymnastics so athletics are definitely something that play a huge part in my life. (click videos below)
On weekends, you can usually find me at a concert or camping out for a concert at 2am in the middle of December (true story). I LOVE music and while I have absolutely zero musical ability, I have absolutely 0 shame at concerts for my favorite bands.
At North, my favorite classes include math (most days), and English. During my school day, however, I love going off-campus with my friends during lunch and trying to fit as much junk food into 50 minutes as possible.
To make up for the absurd amount of money that I spend on lunch, I work at the Park District as a gymnastics instructor. When I say I love my job, I mean it. Honestly, going to work feels more like a hangout with 10 friends as we share our passion for gymnastics with a bunch of little, and older, kids. (The money is nice too). I used to work at Target but a bad case of MONO caused me to sleep through work a couple of times (oops) so I was politely let go. However, getting fired was ultimately a great thing because I found a job that I truly love and am passionate about!
When I have some rare free time, I enjoy spending time with my parents and my brother. Charlie, my brother, is currently a sophomore at North and while he can be your typical annoying sibling at times, hanging out with him is always pretty fun. I also enjoy spending time with my 2 dogs, Riley and Ohso.
My friends are a huge part of my life. Going to football games and concerts with my best friends have been some of the best moments of my life. One glance at our group texts will show lots of TikTok’s (sorry) and sentences in all-caps.

- I got moved from the nosebleeds to the front row at a Billie Eilish concert

- I’ve pierced my own ears 4 times (don’t recommend)
- I want to go to college on the East or West Coast
