My music

Hi i’m Camden and music is a big part of my life. I didn’t really start listening to music through until I was in 6th grade. That’s when I started listening to rappers like Kendrick and J Cole. Eventually I started listening to more and more artists. I started to listen to different types and styles of music. Although rap is still my favorite. These are my top 5 songs of my life as of right now…

Sweet Caroline-

Sweet Caroline is special to me because my aunt lives on caroline street and everytime we would go to her house when I was younger we would sing that song when we got on her street.

Monster Kanye West

Monster is special to me because one time it came on when I was working out and ever since then I play it at least once every time I workout.

No Love youngboy

No Love is on this list because it’s in my pregame playlist. It was one of my favorite pregame songs this year and got my pumped up and focused to compete.

4 min convo A boogie wit da hoodie

I found this song about a year ago and since then it has been one of my all time favorites. The whole album was really good but 4 min convo is the best song in arguably the best album of 2018.

Hi roller lil uzi

I chose highroller because it is one of the best sounding songs. With all of the instrumentals and the way the song was put together was very well laid out.

Family

Family

Family is important

They keep up safe and fed

They tell us goodnight before bed

They are with us till the day we are dead

Family isn’t just the people you live with

A family is any unit working towards a same goal or moral

A family spends time together

To make one another better and enhance their life

They can be your teammates

Or even your friends

Sometimes it’s hard to be in a family

It can get tough

But tough people get tough in tough times

And family can always pull through

And the greatest thing about a family?

Is that that family will shape and mold you into the person you want to be

You just have to trust the process.

The power of Courage

South Vietnamese soldier comforts severely wounded comrade. Near Saigon. August 5, 1963.

Think about being thrown in the fight of your life. One day your a newly 18 year old adult and then next your a solider going off to fight in a war you might not even understand. Now are you surprised when I tell you that this actually happened? The Vietnam war was on of the most controversial wars most didn’t even understand why we were there fighting. The amount of courage displayed by the American solders is truly amazing. Especially in the environment they fought in with gorilla warfare many many Americans died.

And the fact is that many of these soldiers were young men that never got to experience life to it’s fullest extent. It tells us in the book that many would have doubt in their minds as they fought in Vietnam most just trying to survive to get home and start their lives as adults. Although the Young American soldiers showed a great amount of courage not all started out that way. A quote from the text shows us this. He was drafted into the war and was thinking about leaving the country so he did not have to go to war. Although he knew if he did this he could not come back to america because he would be a deserter. He was on a boat about to cross the American Canada border.

“I thought about walking away,But then I got out of the boat”47. It was scary for a lot of these young men to go off to a country they have never been to before and fight a war they did not fully understand. In this quote the man showed courage to go off to war instead of leaving the country. Courage can make ordinary people do extraordinary things like in this case. One of the stories in the book told us about how the men had to go into small tunnels that the enemies would hid in to find any Vietnamese soldiers in them. These tunnels were very small and a large sized man could not fit into them so they would send in small soldiers to do the job.

The tunnels were so small you could not stand in them and could barley move side to side. Lots of times they were also infested with rats. One thing is for sure it took a huge amount of courage to fight in Vietnam. And because of this courage many lives were saved in Vietnam as well as lost. Many people don’t realize what it really took to fight in a war like this. It was grueling hard physical fighting and if you didn’t stay on your A game at all times you could end up dead in a split second. So the next time you think about courage think about those men that fought in the war and what they sacrificed for their country. Having courage isn’t always the easiest thing but the soldiers in Vietnam managed to pull through.

My name is Camden Hirsch and I am a junior at Naperville North. I play football and Lacrosse. I started playing football 7 years ago and after a short time fell in love with the game. I played in a youth league for 2 years and then jr high for 2 years. And now i’m in my 3rd season of high school football. I started Lacrosse my freshman year because a lot of my friends started to play it. I had never played it before freshman year so it was kind of hard to learn. My first season was really fun because pretty much everyone on the team was learning the game. Even though we had a inexperienced team we fished 6-4 witch was pretty cool. Through sports I have learned a lot of good life lessons. Like being on time and communicating so everyone is on the same page. Other big part in my life is family. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers i live with my mom step-dad and one of my sisters. We also have a dog and a cat. My step sister and two step brothers are at college. My step sister goes to university of Alabama and one of my brothers goes to university of Iowa and another goes to UofI. In my free time I like to hangout with friends and if i’m not doing that i’m either working or just chilling in my room. With my friends I like to go play sports like Football or Basketball. A lot of times playing against your friends can get really competitive. Another part of my life right now is school. School isn’t that bad it’s just that the homework get’s annoying because most days i’m very busy. And also I feel like it’s way easier to learn in the class then learn from a homework assignment. For example math usually leaves me with more questions then answers by the time I am done with the homework. My favorite classes so far are Spanish English and lunch. The reason those are my favorites is because of the people in there and the teachers environment things like that. My least favorite classes are math and chemistry they are just boring and tough classes but they both usually are. Math has always been my least favorite class. My favorite NFL team are the Chicago bears  I’ve been a bears fan all my life and they just started playing good again last season and even though they lost last night I think they will have a good 2019 season. It’s kind of scary though that Mitch didn’t play good last night hopefully he settles in along with the rest of the offense and they score some points next week. The defense did really good though and are the bright spot of the bears if the offense puts something together they should be fine.
